ayindejimmy:It's more than this. We should go back to home church system. This is the norm and routine. Congregational church system should be occasional but we have made it the default system. In the home church you hardly should need money for anything: No PAS, no musical instrument other than perhaps a tambourine, no formal choir or ushering system, (and, isn't this crazy) NO TITHES, NO OFFERINGS! (some may want to curse me on this but it's because their idea of 'church' needs money, plenty of it to run) We created this money dependent church system, not Jesus. With money comes serious temptations. When the money becomes too much then we don't know what to do with it and build schools, etc Where there's money mammon is near. Where mammon is the god of this world is not far. The end times are upon us the Laodecian church. Jesus is Lord. |

In Nigeria, it is the fox that's in charge of the hen house. Nigeria can not progress. It is the people who are leaders of thought and power that are the ones preventing progress of the nation because they are the system. They're where they are because the system promoted them to that point. Nigeria is a joke! |

Ten12:Nasfat is a registered organisation. FACT. Qareeb is a registered organisation. FACT. AnsarUdeen is a registered organisation. FACT. RCCG is a registered organisation. FACT. Winners is a registered organisation. FACT. MFM, Deeper life etc are registered organisation. FACT. But where in the Nigerian law is the Muslim faithfuls a registered organisation? The fact that CAN is a registered organisation that has to subject itself to the law of man (created constitution) instead of the natural law of God is a problem for the Christians and the Christians only because it is The Christians only that need an artificial body like CAN to unite their ununited faction/denomination. The natural law of Christians' God is not comprehensive enough to handle a complex org. like CAN. The fact that CAN uses pastors as its leaders does not necessarily mean Muslims must use imam as its Nigerian leader. Does the law even affect CAN president? No. so what is the basis of comparism? Ignorance and hypocrisy are two dangerous elements that should never be allowed to mix but Nigerian Christians have the two in abundance. |

I am a Christian and I support this FRCN code. Churches claim Non profit status but pastors are now competing with celebrities and politicians on wealth accumulation. Let them open their books and pay taxes. |

Realdeals:the Pentecostal churches have made church a family business....that is why they are finding it hard to comply..... A church belong to the people,.....the trustee are accountable to the people....who are the real beneficiaries.....if the G.Os don't run church for their benefit , why are they reluctant to step aside. the new code is actually mild and a welcome idea. church leadership is different from their calling....they can still pray, preach, heal the sick, cast out demons and raise the dead which they are called to do |

ScotsReferendum:“ The code has been on naturally, right from (ex-President Goodluck) Jonathan’s time and this has been over four years. When the code was being done, we engaged all the stakeholders and their presentations formed part of what was in the code at the end of the day. “The only people that took the matter to court were the churches and they lost I hope the ignorant folks accusing Buhari of undermining the authority of the churches get to read the above part. The law was made under Goodluck Jonathan and not the current president. In addition, some churches took the matter to court and lost. That should settle all the unnecessary controversies. |

OkoYibo:that is so on point. where in rome has the church become a family business....that they must hand over to wife or sons and daughters. Jesus has earthly mother, brothers and sisters but did not hand over to them....... i wonder why Pentecostal pastors want to own the church......is all because of money... they see church as a huge financial investment not minding the spiritual aspect of it......... i began to wonder how the stepping aside will remove the power of the Holy Ghost from them ![]() |

You see Police asking a driver of a new BMW car to present the car's 'road worthiness' certificate, whereas 9 out of 10 Police vehicles are hardly road worthy! This is the case of government agencies preaching COMPLIANCE! There is no compliance anywhere in government. Where is NNPC's P&L statement? Who knows what CBN spends? Where are the budgets of Senate and House of Reps? Does the FG really follow budget? How much of 2016 budget was achieved? It is also similar to Nogeria's Senate spending months and months vetting the FG budget, whereas no one has ever seen the budget of the Senate! What on earth is the business of FRCN number of years spent as GO? It is a road that leads to nowhere. Government should leave churches alone. It is sad to know that the law was passed under GEJ! PIB law that is said to be beneficial to the nation's economy has been lying fallow for more than 10 years. Thay they wont pass into law. Their cups will soon be full. |

temitemi1:Ae you aware that the code was developed and deployed by FRC under Jonathan. The implementation was only suspended because of the court case filed by some religious organizations represented by Adegboruwa. There's no connection between Buhari and the code, lets stop whipping up religious and tribal sentiments. After all, the Islamic institutions are also affected. |
