I think you should align your course of study with your future ambition, why study computer engineering when you want to go into entertainment, why not study something like music or dramtic arts that is more related to entertainment,by doing that, you will be able to effectively apply what you learn from your course to further your passion. The real problem is most people don't even know what they want, its when they finish school that they now start thinking, what can I do with my certificate? when they can't get job with their certificate that's when they now try their hands on other things |

AfonjasMustDie:You don't need to go far to see what is called illiteracy. The way you reason and the way you write are true manifestations of illiteracy. |

You think Civil Engineers build awesome structutes by learning on the streets instead of at the university, many inventions, innovations and breakthroughs came from research, or dyu think you do those kind of reseaech with secondary school knowledge? University is not a waste of time and money please o. In this life Everything has a role to play. I always treasure my university education, cos there I improved on my most treasured skill.. The ability to learn. From then on I can decide to be whatever I want to be, anything... Abi shey na Street them dey train doctors? |

AfonjasMustDie:I beg to differ. The issue (in my view) is that many people are unable to apply education; otherwise education is uber-worthwhile |

This is why it is very important for everyone to discover their self. Their innate potentials and how they are wired. Either introverted and right brained. Introverted and left brain. Extroverted and right brain. Or extroverted and left brain. (Which is to say one is either an industrialists/product developer. Professor. Trader. Or administrator/manager). And start from the onset. Acquiring informations, knowledge, etc. That their innate potentials/self favor. You may consult entrepreneurial DNA by Joe Abram or Nnendu Human Capital Developers for more. As for the student you refer to. If his person (potential wise) favor organising events as against the course. He's studying presently. I'll advice he change course. Best Regards Nnendu Human Capitals |

| Re: Which Should Students Focus On: Future Ambition Or Course Of Study? by mubarak89(op): 8:22am On Jan 10, 2017 |
feodan:Yes what you can do: #1. Study a fairly related course in the Uni. and graduate #2. Work for a stipulated time, gather just enough money, and pursue that dream course to whatever country where it is offered. Trust me. I have seen it work for someone; though you've got to be resilient and dogged. |

GreenMavro:How sure is this quote a lot of people av suffered for 4 years and cum out with good grade and are still suffering aftawards... speak to ursef what do u want in life, 80% of wat is being taught in schools are outdated or irrelevant so wat does the employer needs, a computer science student who was taught Fortran and assembly language, an engineer who was taught only equations.. managerial jobs are hard to cum by dis days... Read and get through school but build sumtin within that period also... I which I had known this earlier |
| Re: Which Should Students Focus On: Future Ambition Or Course Of Study? by Profayo: 9:25am On Jan 10, 2017 |
mubarak89:Then what to do depends on how serious you've taken your course in the first place,if you've taken your course very seriously, and you are probably on your way to graduate with a first class or second class upper, then give enough attention to your course to maintain the grade,if not focus on your future ambition |
