Ibime:Alonso has been troubled by a minor leg injury since August. The muscular discomfort has been getting worse over the last few weeks and there are concerns that he will need to be replaced by Ake. This is according to Evening Standard on Tuesday. |

Mikel was paid £2 million as severance package, by Chelsea. He had also rejected Valencia's £100,000/week offer to him Nawa oh |

CFCman:Bros wants to go and boss it in the lower leagues and earn more money. . If he doesnt boss this league then shame on him! If indeed Valencia wanted him and he rejected 100K, then Mikel nor get ambition . . Just like how he used to stick to the DM position and never made forward runs once in a while or make more forward passes. . Ambitionless player who made a lot of Nigerians think Mourinho killed his attacking qualities. You would hear a lot of ignorant Nigerian say things like 'Mourinho lo ba Career mikel je' which is merely a hoax Was he a legend for Chelsea? I see people calling him that mainly because of his length of service to the club but i dont think he is. Did he give enough top notch performances to be considered a club legend? I doubt that! Makalele and Ballack with less years of service to the club are considered legends unanimously. Personally, i am glad he's gone from Chelsea, from the Nigerian front? its a worry that this ambitionless bros is our captain and he will be playing in Fudging China!. . yes. . China! oh well |

lalaboi:.....do you know the condition at Valencia now..a team one point from relegation zone,a team where there is uncertainty all over with them sacking 3 coaches in one year. you expect him to jump from a steady ship to a sinking ship just like that...the guy must HV weighed his options |
| Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread: Club World Cup Champions 2025-2029 by atebesunny: 10:49am On Jan 11, 2017 |
lalaboi:And you think Valencia would had been a good option? a team in crisis, from finances, players, board, ownership, coach, etc. I don't know your definition of a 'LEGEND'. but Mikel would be associated with the club's most successful period not just as a water carrier but one who had a say in it (Am not sure there is a club trophy won by Mikel which he didn't play a significant part in). Like him or loathe him, he has pay his dues ( even if he didn't become the player he should, a case of ifs and buts) and even as a footballer who did not reach his full potentials, HE HAD A SUCCESSFUL CAREER both club wise and for country. |

lalaboi:Nna, leave all that talk about ambition. Money talks. Mikel is a legend like Paulo Ferreira is a legend ie their longevity is due to their sit tight attitude in the last few years of their Chelsea career. I call them more of a burden than a legend. I will give him props for 2012 UCL final though. He definitely came to the party that day. |

Ibime:After retiring, Ferreira worked for Chelsea as an ambassador and assistant loan player technical coach. quite a retirement gift for a guy termed a BURDEN. fans shaaaaa!!! |
| Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread: Club World Cup Champions 2025-2029 by Ibime(m): 11:41am On Jan 11, 2017 |
atebesunny:Ferreira casted as far back as 2006. From 2008 to 2013 he was just collecting money for nothing. He wasn't even an option if our RB got injured, he was just sitting on his contract. |
| Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread: Club World Cup Champions 2025-2029 by nateevs(m): 11:42am On Jan 11, 2017 |
Griffon:This will tally with my opinion on the Ake matter. It didn't make sense to me that his loan would have been cut short 6 months into it, if he wasn't coming in to play. This is also revealing information as some of us have been made to look like idiots supporting Alonso. I think he deserves some commendation for his efforts, giving he has been playing through a muscular discomfort. It's difficult to strap your muscle and play. |

Alonso has been playing with a muscular injury?? Now I feel bad... |
| Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread: Club World Cup Champions 2025-2029 by atebesunny: 11:58am On Jan 11, 2017 |
Ibime:true, but that doesn't makes him a burden to the club. as early back as 2010 I had learned of his ambassadorial job and advisory role for the club. that was why he was still at the club despite not playing. People bring different thing to the table. |
| Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread: Club World Cup Champions 2025-2029 by atebesunny: 12:08pm On Jan 11, 2017 |
I believe this news will cool down all the Alonso bashers, and to even think he is 2nd in distance covered in the whole league is amazing while injured since August and has completed every single minutes of the winning run. if he is willing and able to put in these shifts while injured, I wonder what to expect when fully fit. |

atebesunny:That may be the case, but no ambassadorial job pays £40k a week. Highest £3k a week. You can't be paid as a footballer and justify it with ambassador job that broke ex-players are paid to do. They just gave him one small thing to do since they are already paying him. TBH, it was Peter Kenyon's fault. We did not have a manager on ground in 2008 when Peter Keyon offered him 5 year contract in 2008 on the grounds of protecting the players value (as his contract was expiring). Everybody with an ounce of football knowledge could see that Ferreira don cast tay tay. The day Ferreira died was the day Ronaldinho disgraced him in 2006 UCL 2nd round. Ronaldinho was lifting ball over his head and collecting it on the other side. .Ferreira had to ask for Ronaldinhos shirt at half-time, not even full-time which got Mourinho so pissed off, he shouted at him and took him off. Ferreira was never the same player after that day. |

It maybe due to my hatred towards dudes lack of ambition and unadventurous attitude, I do NOT consider Mikel a legend. I'm grateful for his contribution in the Blues 2012 triumph...goodbye and goodluck to him. |
