This will tally with my opinion on the Ake matter. It didn't make sense to me that his loan would have been cut short 6 months into it, if he wasn't coming in to play.

LEGEND as a word has a 'relative ' meaning but one thing is common which is 'SERVICE, TRIUMPH and MEMORIAL'.
Not everybody will have a statue erected in their honor, or have a part of the stadium named after them, but there are those whose names can never be omitted when the history of a club is narrated decades later.
For Chelsea fc, history will forever remember the years 2003 through 2012 and everyone who played a SIGNIFICANT role during these years. the years 2005 and 2012 in fact conveys so much memories for any fan of the club.
if players like Andre Flo, Mark Hughes, Cudicini, Duff, Gullit, petrescu, Poyet, Desailly, Leboeuf, Vialli, Goey etc are 'considered' as legends, then players like Mikel even Cahill and Ivanovic etc. cannot be denied the title.

being a legend goes much more that being part of those dat make history. For example take a look at manutd's bobby charlton. He played with a whole set of team mates but he is the only one dat is regarded as an icon. U cannot just dish out legendary status to every dick and harry just because they were present when history was made.
