Effect of competition. Alonso is already feeling Ake's arrival.

Two goals for Alonso, now just one shy of his career high total for a season (four with Bolton in 2012-13).
Another goal for Pedro, who simply can't stop scoring. Four goals in his last four games.
Victor Moses kicked all night long, only called once in a rather frustrating overall performance from referee Andre Marriner. Also missed the Vardy assault on David Luiz. We should recall that Vardy put Hazard out of commission last season for several months.
Welcome back, clean sheet.
Another game with Chelsea playing much better in the second half than the first. Just Conte things, that.
Chelsea have now scored 10 goals against Leicester this season (three games in all competitions).
More than 13 seconds for Michy!
Loftus-Cheek also gets a reward for his great showing last weekend in the FA Cup.
Chelsea finish the day 7 points clear of Spurs in second place. If Liverpool beat Manchester United tomorrow, that lead will be back down to 5 as before this weekend. Any other result and it's a great weekend for the Blues.
Chelsea now have more points than we had all of last season.
Next up: Hull City at the Bridge.
Always improve.

Now the pressure is on in the deplorables derby tomorrow. One of those games you'd like to see both teams lose.

2 - Chelsea have not beaten the reigning PL champion twice in the same season since 09-10, when they ended up lifting the trophy. Incentive.

Sunsports understands Costa — who had a training-ground bust-up with a fitness coach this week — and his representatives have been looking into the possibility of a move to China since the end of November.
And he told pals he will do anything to force a move during the transfer window — claiming that he “hates English football and hates the FA”.

A Chinese source said: “Costa is the No 1 target and we know that he wants to come here. The personal terms have been agreed in principle. But Chelsea are adamant they do not want to sell at least until the end of their season.”
Antonio Conte talks about Diego Costa's injury and possible move to China
Costa had numerous brushes with the FA and opponents following his move from Atletico Madrid in summer 2014.
Blues boss Antonio Conte was convinced he had tamed the forward, who has scored 14 league goals this season.
But Costa has repeatedly told Chelsea he will not sign a new contract.

He is a good player but he has to do more in the Champs League and for his national team........plus Neymar IS better grin
Iniesta (2003-2017): 11 UCL Goals, 12 International Goals, 34 League Goals.

Oga if there's anyone who must put in more work both on the domestic and international fronts, it has to be Andreas Iniesta. Sadly, he's 32.

You cant wave aside his unproductivity with the assertion, that stats dont tell the whole story of his influence. If he must enjoy that defense, i dont see a reason why Hazard who has outscored him at all fronts in a short playing time fail to get that defense too.

Some newstand pundits here branded Hazard a failure last season 'cos he wasnt scoring but i dont see 'em giving Muller who has scored just once this season same treatment.

Una sentimental views and double-standard approach over certain issues for here fit win an oscar award sha.

We are saying Hazard should do more for his national team and in the champs league to be rated highly like his contemporaries like Muller, Neymar, Griezmann and you are mentioning Iniesta who has helped his national team to multiple titles and his club to champs league titles.
I am not Dayo and have nothing against Hazard but to get to that top echelon he needs to contribute more outside the EPL for both club and country.
