In a lay mans term, stroke can be defined as a full or partial paralysis of a section of the body. Stroke may be total or partial.

It dawned on me a few days ago while looking at a gathering of men above 40years that almost 5% of them have had a form of stroke or the other.

On the other hand, virtually none of the women above 40years have had stroke. I just had to think back and asked myself the question: "Have I ever seen a woman with a partial or full stoke?". I discovered that I had never!

Now, Medical Doctors in the house, what are the reasons why it seems men are more predisposed to stroke than women? Are men doing some things wrong?

I believe my observation is correct. How many women (relative to men) have you found with stroke.

Doctors in Nairaland should educate all young guys. Over to you.

yea they worry a lot without showing it or complain so they don't look weak.

Evn African culture promotes it.

Well its simply because men care less abt dir health and men indulge more in activities dt lead to stroke n high bp eg smoking, drinking, poor sleep, poor diet etc

Women also suffer from it.
My aunt died of a stroke many years ago.
