Good Day Folks, My 1999 toyata Camry "tiny light" odometer suddenly goes blank and speedometer also stops working after some minute while driving. This happens mostly when the weather is very hot, sometimes when u start the car the odometer will be blank and the speedometer doesn't move. It sometimes comes back on by itself after driving for long. Whenever this malfunction happens, it affects the gear selection, it takes longer for the gear to select, there is always this sudden jerk of the car when it goes blank, and I will notice the blank odometer. Car gurus in house, please I would appreciate your inputs and suggestions on how to remedy this issue. Many thanks. |

phoenixy:Thanks Gazzuz, I just checked online and I now understand what instrument cluster is. Will change it asap. Will it affect the previous odometer figures? Thanks for your time. |

At Gazzuzz, any ideal about the cost? I have same problem with same 1999 camry but my gear selects perfectly. |

phoenixy:The reason I recommended a replacement of the cluster is because of the highlighted. If yours does not go blank, then the issue will be centered around the Vehicle speed sensor which is on the gearbox. it goes blank especially in the afternoon and during when am in traffic. fuel gauge mal functioning also |
