Rumour has it that Whatsapp could possibly allow users to edit messages they have sent in the near future.

For now (and thanks to the new update in place) Whatsapp users can now queue messages while offline and send them once their handheld devices detect a single.

Thanks to the latest update users are also now allowed to send up to 30 picture messages (and videos) at a time.

That would be good. Reminds me of a person that mistakenly sent a porn clip to a church group.

I don't think that would be possible on WhatsApp. When whatsapp receive a message, it is stored in the local storage so editing at both ends would need extra permissions.

That's the advantage of Telegram cos Telegram stores all chat conversation in the cloud so it can be easily edited and available to everyone connected to the chat in all and any devices

Telegram can now edit and unsend messages.Only default (cloud) chats are stored on the telegram cloud.Secret chats arent stored and are session specific.They cannot be synched and use end to end encryption.Checkout http://telegram.org to see the news.
