When a tornado battered southern Mississippi over the weekend, it yanked trees off the ground and tore through buildings at William Carey University.

When staffers combed the campus, sifting through the damage, they said they happened upon a stunning scene: An open Bible on the pulpit of the campus church, undisturbed by the surrounding debris.

Rick Wilemon, an adjunct art instructor at the private Christian college, snapped some photos of the Bible as it was found in the otherwise-damaged Bass Chapel after the EF-3 tornado hit Hattiesburg.
"No building was left untouched," Wilemon told CNN. "So many appear to be total losses."

Wilemon said the Bible was a fixture in the chapel. And the condition it was found in has bolstered the spirits of the campus -- and beyond.
"It is remarkable that something so inspiring to our community is also inspiring to the nation," Wilemon said.

Four people died in the tornado. I doubt if God would save a Bible and not save human lives. I think it was just a coincidence, after all the church window was also destroyed.

The Bible couldn't stop the tornado, but u are happy the toonado had mercy on the Bible...

Thank God for allowing people die but instead, in it's wisdom, chose to spare rizzla/toilet tissue

What then are we celebrating? Lost lives or an untouched Bible?

God has limited control where man is because He has given man the control. The day man understand this truth he will step into his Godship. Satan took over the leadership of the earth not from God but man the then newly appointed king of the earth. God hardly interfere in man's except where man calls.

Interesting. Are you then saying that those people were left to die probably because they didn't call on God, or because God might have tried to help them but they refused?

God don't mainly intervene in man's case because he calls. No! But because man follow simple spiritual truth.

You can't walk in the light of spiritual truth and heaven will not defend. People fall prey to many unnecessary issues because they lack knowledge of the working principle of the universe.

Christians teach most of these principles but hardly do them. The principle respond to doers not hearers.
