I am not so sure that at any point in those thousand years Jehovah or Allah ever told their people that killing of other humans is bad.

Actually it is the pope who historically call a crusade not the european princes. In each of those cases the crusade were planed against muslim expansionism as just defense. Many derailed into escalated violence and the popes who called the crusades are usually the 1st to condemn it excesses.

They were trully defensive wars.

Do a more tedious review of the crusades, man. Princes secure papal bulls from the pope as standard cover for plundering the Orient. Essentially, the crusades were mostly an immoral gang up by vile kings, princes and knights under the banner of religion to plunder, massacre and enslave the new east. Same way today's Jihads are savage acts by barbaric groups in the name of religion to maim, plunder and enslave. No pope is known to have ever condemned the Lionheart or any other king for all the atrocities committed in the middle east during the crusades. I will be eager to be schooled to the contrary if there is any evidence for such.

You have it wrong again. The princes didnt just secure bulls from the pope and then went on to fight people, instead it was the pope who usually called the crusade and gather the princes for war, d pope appoints a preacher to preach it and finally put many cleric in it as papal legates. It was a church affair not colonial.

I chuckle...not to deride you, man. I understand how you can hold a very flat and patronizing narrative of the crusades. The crusade is not a very well known topic for Nigerian Christians in general and is hardly ever mentioned or taught in school and in church.

Obviously, you are not aware that in the many wars between the crusader states and the Arab alliances, lead particularly by Nur ad din and Sala ad din, oddities happened severally like Christian kingdoms teaming up with Muslim armies to attack and destroy rival Christian kingdoms.

The Byzantine empire was effectively faded from the Earth when her capital was invaded and burnt to the ground by the 4th crusade in 1204. That was a crusade called by a pope, financed by merchants of Venice and carried out by Christian knights to destroy the 2nd most important Christian empire after Rome!

Please study the crusades a bit more than you have already and you'd have a more balanced view.

Are you saying that those who were slayed didn't have God's protection?

You don't know God at all if you think being alive, wealthy, healthy etc are due to God's love.

OH, i did study alot about the crusades esp the 4th crusade. U forgot to add that it was called as a defensive war to the holy lands, tricked into constantinople against the wishes of the pope. It was condemned by the pope with an excommunication against the vinetians. It was called as a just war.

Ah, si. We have an agreement on somethings. Christian armies did destroy Constantinople, a key Christian capital and many crusades were diverted to greedy, personal or vendetta goals.

Bottom line of my original point is that religions generally promote violence and I don't see much difference between the three Abrahamic religions of Christianity, Islam and Judaism and their capacity for violence and bigotry.
