I'd be grateful if someone knowledgeable on this matter can help shed some light.

I'm not new to web designing and programming- I've had the knowledge for years but this is the first time I want to host a website. The Problem is I don't know which host to go to. I'm looking to develop a Wordpress-based website at the moment.

I'm looking for a package that allows me to host multiple websites at the same time and won't be troublesome. I've heard not so good stories about hosts having lotsa downtimes coupled with a crappy customer service who will frustrate one's life.

I'm considering DigitalOcean but a friend pointed out to me there are alternatives out there that cost less.

Can someone recommend me a good host?

since you understand webhosting biz am sure you know digital ocean offers unmanaged vps right?

i would love to know which kind of host you are looking for.
wether shared,managed vps,unmanaged vps or dedicated servers.

Digital ocean,aws and Linode fall in the same category and i dont think there will be anything cheaper than this hosts....
The beautiful thing about them is that you pay for what you use and thats just awesome coz something like linode charges $0.015 per hour which translates to $10 per month or even lower depending on your usage that month.
