Hi guys!

I need your help on this one. I recently did a job for a client who was Okay with the job. He gave me his feedback that he was fine with the content.

The problem I am having right now was that when I was submitting the article, I didn't use the Upwork submission that gives client maximum of 2 weeks to review your work. I decided to use the attached file to submit the article in the message area/platform.

The major reason I did that was because I thought the nigga would ask me for a review or revision on the content.

It has been a week now, the client has not released the milestone for me to make withdrawals. I tried sending him a message reminding him of the milestone. And it's been three days now, but got no answer from him.

What should I do?

Should I resend the content using upwork submission platform? My fear is that this action may be too rude and desperate. I might end up losing the nigga.

Or should I fold my hands and wait for him to release the milestone when he is ready( I kind of need money now ).

Please guys what do you think I should do? I'm counting on your advice!

In fact I've made up my mind that anytime I am going to submit any article to any client I'm going to be using the submission platform. I don't care if they have suggestions about the article or not.

Thanks

Waiting for your advice great People.

Your method of submission doesn't matter. You will get your money. The money is with Upwork and not the client. He will surely initiate payment to you. But you can still submit using the request platform.

Don't worry at all.

Hello everyone, i just came across this thread and i think its really getting hot, i'm a newbie on fiverr earning peanuts, but as i'm seeing this thread this morning, i'm considering opening an upwork account but before i proceed, i will like to ask some questions and will be very happy if anyone whom God touches his or her heart to answer me.

1) Can i open an upwork account with a US ip just like fiverr and i wont have problem?
2) What skill(s) can i quickly learn be it on youtube or any other available means that can fetch me some bucks on upwork? because i currently writes article on fiverr. OR if there is any skill anyone can put me through.

Thanks

1. You can't operate a foreign account successfully on Upwork. Before withdrawing your earnings, you will have to fill a W9 tax earning form. Some clients on Upwork like to communicate via Skype. Sometimes Upwork themselves will request a Skype conversation with you to confirm that you are who you claim and also test your English.

2. Writing pays more on Upwork than Fiverr. There are clients that are willing to pay more than the traditional $5 for 500 words on Upwork.
More flexibility regarding to delivery deadlines etc.

As for courses you can learn, there was a course offered by Upwork in conjunction with an online tutorial platform. I think it was based on digital marketing or so. I can't remember. That course is okay to learn.

Just to to my jobs and click the submit/request payment button... You don't need to upload anything to do that. Wait for the client to accept the payment request or just wait for 2 weeks. Or send the client a message request releasing of the milestone.. It's your money.

If the client doesn't end up paying, how would you enforce the contract? Would you go all the way to the US just to sue the client?
You make an official complain to up work. Make sure before you do any job, that the client sends you a contract form and you must accept the offer all on up work. That is what up work would use to pursue your case.
It happened to me a while ago. The client wouldn't pay the $400 job I did. Complained to up work and they paid me my money. I do not know how they got it. But I got paid. If you start off the contact on Upwork and later decide to work and earn the pay outside up work. Forget about complaining to them if the client vanishes with your pay. They will delete your and the clients acct and not let you back.
