Jonathan is Responsible for the Religious Crisis in Nigeria - Bishop Musa Fomson Reveals

Bishop Musa Fomson of the Middle Belt Patriotic Front has accused former President Goodluck Jonathan of being the one behind the religious crisis in the country.

Former President Goodluck Jonathan has been accused of masterminding the religious crisis in the country. This claim was made by the national chairman fo the Middle Belt Patriotic Front who faulted recent comments by Jonathan at the US Congress where he reportedly claimed that religion was tearing the nation apart.

Jonathan had at the event that his administration’s political will to halt impunity in Nigeria led to the localisation of religious extremism in the Northeast with occasional killings in other zones of the North, according to DailyPost.

Jonathan had also further said that also reached out to the “Muslim Ummah in Nigeria, His Eminence, the Sultan of Sokoto, Sa’ad Abubakar III,” whom he was able to convince to “publicly condemn Islamic extremism in Nigeria.”

But, while speaking to journalists in Abuja, the national chairman of the forum, Bishop Musa Fomson described the statement by the ex-president as reckless and unpatriotic.

He said, “It was the mindlessness of his administration that amplified the schism to a point where persons that were once neutral learnt to hate adherents of other faiths. It was Goodluck Jonathan that made religion and ethnicity into campaign issues in order to cover the incompetence of his rule in the quest for re-election.”

Fomson accused the former president of sowing the seeds of division through his, “ill advised romance with the then President of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Pastor Ayo Oritsejafor, who even ran errand as weapons buyer, and was instrumental to reducing Christendom into the current level where whatever CAN has to say is being second guessed.”

How do we tolerate each other with this kind of misleading information from popular sites.

The writer intentionally omitted the fact that Musa Femson is a Christian and a Bishop at that. This is to make people believe Musa must have being a Muslim judging by his first name.

He is Bishop Musa Femson and he is speaking on behalf of an assoiciation that would include more than one Christian.

Kindly regularise to stem the tide of this hatred arising from misinformation by a mischievous blogger.

I am of the opinion that no leader whose regime is marred by corruption and embezzlement should be allowed to walk freely without being prosecuted and sent to prison. These leaders should not be celebrated because we are telling them that they can steal as long as they work and posterity will presume that is the the way things are done.
Jonathan is a great leader, no doubt. But he should be prosecuted for he conspicuously looted the national treasury.
