Set standard? Unilorin copied it . . .

Nobody is arguing who copied or who set standard. But Unilorin was able to achieve their aim by inculcating norms and values in the students.

I think it's a welcome development, before they blind everybody all in the name of dressing. Some of those girls won't like this yet they keep shouting "sexual harassment" People should learn to dress responsibly

so ur logic tells u that u must harass every girl that dresses provocatively?

what about the ones that are attacked even when they were not provocatively dressed?

y not accept the fact that u r sick and require therapy instead of walking loose with a fixation on the female anatomy.

University of Lagos management has introduced a dress code for the students of the institution to curb the indecent dressing among the male and female students.

This was made known on a notice pasted in the school, it was stated clearly that lecturers and administrators are empowered to correct/exclude students from lectures and official business when they are not properly dressed.

Spotted. So students should be allowed to roam naked in your opinion.

they as well wear a hijab and complete moslem apparel for u to be happy.

how does ones comfort in certain clothes affect you...if u r not a pervert?

Good for lectures and other academic programs, after classes you can wear what you like.

Hmmmmm, I hope it's not too late to correct this. When Unilorin was setting the standard then, people were saying it's a secondary school, but today, Unilorin has achieved proper dressing code to an encouraging standard. But in Unilag, its already part of the students' way of life, now they want to do the necessary. Let's wait and see if they will adhere. I'm always proud to be a product of UNILORIN.
And what has Unilorin added to the advancement of science in Nigeria(Lets leave the world for now?).

Ok. Let's assume you have a point which we both know you actually don't. For argument sake, what were they supposed to do before this?

is that a question u really want me to answer?

have you asked urself why we have eggheads walking around calling themselves graduates?
have you asked urself why we dont have one university that boasts of adding value to africa or the world thru research?

then again....u r clearly one of those more interested in body parts than the quality of educ u receive in our institutions.

Lol. Did they think this through? Who doesn't wear tight jeans just a few. Go to the market and see if you will find baggy.

They might as well show pictures of what they want and don't want like a deeper life tract I had many years ago that showed acceptable dress code or more of recent in MFM that display a billboard of what not to wear to church.

Very apt! take your indecent dressing to your closet.

Really don't know how people feel wearing torn jeans or some very inappropriate clothing sef.

I don't think Nigerians understand the concepts of living in a secular democracy, individualism or freedom of expression.

We just have these laws for show. The Constitution is a farce in this country. It's very obvious that our de facto laws are based on Islam and Christianity but veiled as "African culture".

I should have just clicked "Like" but i think I must comment that this is a step in the right direction, because things have gone out of hand in our institutions especially with most girls. This move is better late than never. It states dress code for lectures and academic ceremonies, this is perfect.
If we all have dress code for our parties, meetings, weddings and events, we should expect that academics should be equally responsible in all fields. After all lawyers and bankers, engineers and doctors will eventually learn to adapt to some sort of dress code while practicing their profession. Teaching this kind of discipline must go along with the training.
After classes students can dress the way they wish as a matter of choice.
Though I have read of a naked student in a university once in the US but we are in Africa and i dont think any student will want to go that far anytime soon.

Very soon almost all the Universities would follow a strict dress code. If you are a parent you will be glad someone somewhere is at least taking steps to bring back some morals to our society.
