Nigeria is more or less a failed state already. Military rule is best to counter this. A hard reset. Firstly take a look at d arguments following this thread. Everyone that has said sumtin is speaking from d same myopic tribalistic point of view guiding our leaders' judgements. Abacha dissolved all political parties, local govts, etc under his rule. Let's dissolve and restart over abeg. And pray we maintain it right this time. Cos getting it right after resetting is sure bet.

Chief a hard reset will take us all along with it. Too many corrupt people in the system even the people supposed to do the hard reset are influenced.

Buhari's primary failing is in economics, specifically the fixed exchange policy. Osinbajo is unlikely to be worse except in one regard. I have noticed a tendency for many in government to express the belief that the economy needs stimulus in the form of increased government spending and lower interest rates. If this is followed through, the economic crisis would get worse.

At the heart of an exchange rate crisis is that the local currency is in abundant supply relative to forex. Increasing the supply of the local currency, which is what you get in a stimulus, will worsen the crisis.

I am not a supporter of PMB neither do I pray for him to die, but one thing is certain, peradventure Buhari dies today (which is common to every living soul), the situation of the country will be worse than it is now under Osibanjo.

REASONS
- Osibanjo is not a career politician and neither is he so smart like Idiagbon to manage the economy of a big country like Nigeria. Remember, academic qualification/prowess is different from Political power. After all, there are so many Professors in the Senate who have never sponsored nor supported any motion in the Senate.

- Tinubu will wreck havoc on the economy of Nigeria under Osibanjo as the later is more of a Puppet to the former. Already, everyone knows his influence in the economy of Lagos State where he holds swear as a demi-god. Remember, Tinubu has already captured Finance Ministry (Adeosun) FIRS (Fowler) and so many other strategic agencies. Imagine when his 'boy' becomes the President. He may even auction the country.

- The North will frustrate Osibanjo the way they did to Jonathan and this will drastically affect his performance.

- The economy is already dead - There is high level of unemployment co-existing with galloping inflation (stagflation), there is liquidity freeze in the economy, there is oil price shock in the international oil market which has resulted in dwindling revenue of the country. Therefore, it will take years and smart President to revamp the economy of the country.

MY OPINION!
Things can change. What if buhari comes back, what would happen? I am optimistic that he will

Was Gej a Phd holder to be proud of ?
He was such a disgrace to a Phd holder that politicians across Africa mucked him and called him a disgrace to Africa.
And to think that is a hero you gloat over says much of your cognitive faculty.

Leave them with their problems. I don't know why a sensible person will be going what is right. What does a constitution says in this kind of situation. Ipob wait for your time.
When former president Yaradua died,GEJ became the President. Nobody struggled with him. If it is ibo time, nobody will struggle with u. I wonder why u people see 1+1 as 11. It's ur opinion though but u got ur fact wrong, Tinubu isn't in control of Finance ministry, Adeosun is d choice of Amosun/Obadanjo, Tinubu's choice for finance was Wale Edun n d guy did well.

I am not praying for Buhari's demise too ooo but should it happen, Osinbajo will do a good job because he will only be focused on governance while Tinubu will do d politicking n am sure Osinbajo will get a good team to work with, cos he will need to sack most of dis ministers as dey are too concerned about 2019 election.

I agree with you. I think Osibanjo will do a far better job than Buhari. He would likely lift most of the import bans to ease the economy out of depression. But I fear that the north won't let him govern peacefully. Who would become his VP? This is another thorny area.

Well, the LORD will help him if he became the president eventually. I like the man.

True every person that takes over from a Buhari govt must be ready to sacrifice himself as failed leader in history, the same thing happened to Babangida ...this is so because Buhari poor leadership usually destroys the economy so much that who ever takes over never has enough time to fix it and would then be seen as a failure and blamed for the rot caused by Buhari for ages just like Babangida
Babangida never had enough time!!??!!
You must be high on something.
