Good day Agric Nairalanders. I am experimenting with Broilers, and I want to see how much I can start making monthly selling them to market women in my area. So, to start with and reduce risk, I purchased 8 five weeks old from a fellow Nairalander in Ibadan yesterday evening. I am going to feed them as much as possible for the three weeks they would be with me, and when I attain the weight size of between 1.8kg and 2kg with them, I will sell off. I bought for N600 each, and I calculating that I would spend at least 400 naira feeding each for the three weeks they would be with me.

If this is how it works out i the end, and I am able to sell to market women for 1,400, then I will replicate this business model with more broilers. I would be updating pictures and findings as the days go.

Below are some pictures of me at the guy's pen yesterday.

I said this business is going to cost me less than 10,000 Naira, and I will keep it that way.

Cost so far...

Cost of 8 Broiler chickens- N4,800

Total cost of transportation- N500

Cost of quarter bag of Top Feeds Finisher- N1,030

Total- N6,330.

This is the total cost so far. Let's see how things go in the ext couple of days, and weeks.

The broilers have been with me now for a week and 4 days. I might extend their stay to 4 weeks, I don't know yet. Below are pictures of them taken this morning. They are currently 7 weeks old.

Any broiler product from Chi, Zartech and Amo are termed pure lines. You cant go wrong with them.

From farmers observation, Zartech seem to have less issues with heat especially this current season.

Why is there a huge margin in price between the trio & OBJ.
CHI AA plus is #162, Zartech COBB 500 same price, AMO AA is #220 & OBJ is #200.

I got them from a Nairalander that stays somewhere around Iwo road. I can't remember the name of the place. The guy's name is toyfat in nairaland, and this is the thread he advertised the chickens on- https://www.nairaland.com/3605903/five-weeks-old-broilers-sale#53520595

He is an expert.
