I am in a critical condition in which i have to make out the best decision for myself now and i seriously want you to advise me on this.

Right from the time that i was a kid ,computer has always been my thing and i am well known for that. wherever i go people easily point it out that i am a computer geek without even knowing me before.

I wanted to opt for computer science when i wrote my first jamb (last Year) but due to the fact that i really suc.k in mathematics and pretty good in chemistry and biology i decided to opt for pharmacy which i later didn't get.

The issue now is that the course (Anatomy) that they gave me is something that i have never dreamed of and seriously have no passion for. initially i didn't want to study the course but my parents and my other relatives pressurized me to study it. Now i am in a deep mess, i cant stop thinking of computer science and neither do i stop thinking of pharmacy as well.

Now i have made up my mind to write this upcoming jamb while still taking on my current course but my problem is that i am still confused on whether i should rewrite for pharmacy or go for computer science. I can spend all night learning programming languages like JAVA, PHP C++ and others without feeling sleepy. it is what i love doing but for the fact that i am not all that good in mathematics makes me to always have double mind towards it.


Please your candid advice is needed here, do you thing i can really cope through computer science without being good in mathematics or should i go for pharmacy since it is my second love ?

Instead of writing another jamb why not inquire about the modalities for change of course in your present school if de have both pharmacy and computer studies

You're going to do Math courses till 200L as a computer scientist, depending on your school. You should note that CSC is not all about programming, it entails other things.

I will advice you to get some Math textbooks and probably start attending Math lessons to up your Mathematical skills if you are really passionate about Computer science.

Will advice you to go for pharmacy, since you are very good in physics and biology and not really good at maths.
Its a good thing your knowledge for computer is inbuilt. just keep improving on it personally, and acquire a new knowledge by studying pharmacy.
You can use both knowledge in future.

OP, mathematics is actually the easiest of all subjects, especially if you have a good sense of imagination.

It's just the way that it's taught that makes people get phobia towards it.

OP, my advice for you is to go all out in it.
Take math classes, attend tutorials, download videos detailing on subjects.

Khan academy, mathworld, wolfram; let those websites be bookmarked.

Don't let past experiences bog you down, mathematics is a great and intresting subject.



If you do all that; you'll knock out Jamb and math courses in the uni.

Good bless you bro.. .Mathematics is great but the hatred that i developed for it earlier made me a su.cker on the subject.

Did you drop out of pharm sch?.. else why would you wanna rewrite and still apply for pharm?

also com sci need maths both in the uni, during jamb and in application of knowledge too

I see no reason why you can't do both. I intend to apply for med and still be a programmer.

My advice is, find a way and do both. The more skills you have, the better you chances of working anywhere
