This what I was trying to tell you, PassingShot, the premium offered is way too high and we will be serving the debt with more money than we got.

It simple, we are offering more than they can ignore.
Do you think PassingShot is genuinely interested in serious debate? grin

I've said it that the premium is high.

The question is, what options do we have?

We can borrow locally, while waiting to see if crude oil will sustain the current surge in prices.

Instead of the FG to add to our recurrent expenditures and worsen debt to revenue ratio. Since they are trying to reduce recurrent expenditures and block leakages.

What happened to the $49bn the previous administration looted, the $10bn announced to have been recovered last year, the N3.6trillion recovered from looters you said merely needed appropriation to be available for the government to use? Abeg fellow concerned citizens, help me ask this current administration what happened to the #3.4Trillion( cash and asset) recovered from May 29, 2015-May 25, 2016 as announced by Alhaji Lai Mohammed,( This day news June ,5, 2016.) Let's ask them why #305 billion loan is necessary? Can't they use the looted money for their plan execution?
Even if they dont want to use that , the revenue generated from just our individual area local markets can give us that money in 4months, no need to go hussle for a loan we can hardly pay. This country is so rich and blessed, a giant who for once is never conscious of who he really is. Always mismanaging it's available resources. Is this administration brain washed?
God please help our leaders, give them brain.
God bless our country!

Children of hate don come again.
I didn't read anywhere in the article where the detractors offered any shred of alternative source of revenue.
If the same eurobond had failded (thank God it was a HUGE success) these same wailing zombies would still have come to blame Adeosun and caller her unprintable names.

The reality is you lots were happy with the vandalisation of pipeline even though we know the gov need funds to execute its plan. Now that they have successuflly (using their term) sold the future of your unborn children, you are here again complaining. The only possible alternative is for government to dip its dirty hands into the pension fund. I am sure these same "ekpas" would still cry fowl.

For me, having infrastructure is unnegotiable, now that revenue are low, we need the cheapest "loan" we can get and this eurobond is a great deal. Is their a price to pay? Of course yes. But that price cannot and should not be lack of needed infrastructure of the nation.

Having said that, Adeosun and her team should realise that they have not done anything we have not seen before. Getting money from foreign investors is not new to Nigeria. So while some of us are relatively happy with this news, we are not excited "yet" until we see actual utilization of the funds for the purpose which its meant. If that happens then she and her team would have written their name among the true hero/heroines of this country.
There is no issue with getting the loan....the big issue is using the loan to service frivolous things as seen in the budget...cost of governance should be reduced.
