He can't. He'd have to resign as Emir (handing over to his rival cousin) revert back to his former name (Lamido Sanussi) then run the risk of failing at the poling booth.

oh well just like el rufau,he is brillant,but he is a fulani elite and they are the real problem of Nigeria,i would rather be the Akran of Badagry for life than be Nigeria's president,btw nothing in the constitution stops traditional rulers from contesting political positions,Nigeria is a republic we are all equal in the eye of the law,no nobility,lords or chief.

nigeria is a republic nothing stops a traditional ruler from contesting for political post.
