IMO GOVERNMENT PARTNERS NIGERIAN ARMY IN EDUCATION

Imo State Government partners Nigerian Army to realize three proposed Command Schools already approved in the three Senatorial zones of the State.

Prince Madumere who received a delegation from the Nigerian Army last Monday led by the Chief of Administration, Nigeria Army, Major General Idris Alkali commended the Nigerian Army for partnering with the State in development of sound minds for the youth of Imo State.

He told his guest how highly Governor of Imo State, Owelle Rochas Okorocha holds education and its unequal importance to the national development.

His words; " I am sure you are all aware that our Governor, the people's Governor, Owelle Rochas Okorocha is number in Africa who believes in the potency of education to fight poverty, liberate the minds of the people and engenders development in all ramifications. It is this passionate appreciation of education that has led to the forfeiture of his security votes to help archive free education policy at all levels, which has run for about six years now. I therefore commend you for this appreciation of these effort by proposing to site three Command Schools in the three senatorial zones of Okigwe, Orlu and Owerri"

Prince Madumere assured his guests of Owelle Rochas Okorocha led government full cooperation.

Speaking earlier, the leader of the delegation, Major. Gen. Alkali thanked Imo State Government for their cooperation and avowed interest to ensure that the proposed projects are realized.

He also described Imo as the best prepared State going by what they have seen on ground and promised that Nigerian Army will make the proposed Command schools in Imo model learning centers to breed respectable young Nigerians. He hinted that they are in the State for the final inspection of the centers for the schools.

Meanwhile, Imo Deputy Governor received Maj. Gen. Alkali led delegation with the Commissioner for Education, Science &Technology, Hon. (Mrs.) Getrude Oduka, his Principal Secretary, Comrade Obinna Aharanwa and other Government functionaries.

This is what Okorocha is known for. Always trying to be noticed. He is still owing civil servants in the state over 11months salary arrears and pensioners are being owed over 70months arrears too. Imo state under Okorocha has lost direction and it is headed for the ditch. Ohakim or Ihedioha would have made a better governor..

Even though this is a nice development, i don't see the importance as we have many quality primary and secondary schools in Imo State
