Nigeria Treats The Igbos As Second Class Citizens – Nnia Nwodo by Nobody: 2:52am On Feb 22, 2017 |
President General of Ohaneze Ndigbo, Chief John Nnia Nwodo on Tuesday 21st February 2017 continued his awareness campaign on the plight of the Igbo nation in Nigeria, wondering aloud why a group as big as the Igbos would be totally shut out from sensitive positions in the country. Chief Nwodo, who has been visiting the seven Igbo-speaking states alongside Lagos and Abuja since his emergence as President General of Ohaneze, reiterated his position when he led other executive members of the organisation to a meeting with Rivers State governor, Ezenwo Nyesom Wike at the government House Port Harcourt. “The current government in Nigeria has passed a vote of no confidence on Igbos, as being incapable to head any security service in Nigeria.” He said. “We are not Chief of Army staff, we are not Chief of Naval staff, we are not Chief of Air staff, we are not Inspector General of Police.” He added. Chief Nwodo also raised objection at the little attention given to infrastructural development in the South South, wondering aloud why a region responsible for a very significant percentage of the nation’s foreign exchange earner would be left to rot. He also raised objection at the killing of unarmed members of the Indigenous People of Biafra and the Movement for the Actualization of the Sovereign State of Biafra, wondering what the youth, who are clearly not happy with the unfair treatment being meted out to them in a country that was supposed to be theirs, did to warrant being killed. “In today’s newspaper, Amnesty International says 177 IPOB and MASSOB people have been killed since they started their struggle.” He revealed. “Nobody has told us how they were killed and what they did to be killed.” He added. Rivers State governor, Ezenwo Nyesom Wike on the other hand enumerated the several challenges faced by his government under the Buhari-led federal government. “They agreed to pay us our bail-out fund. Mr President approved 25 percent. They have paid other states 25 percent, but they paid Rivers state, Delta state 11.3 percent. Why? If they pay us 25 percent, we will get more money.” The governor said. He also used the occasion to call for an end to federalism as it is currently practiced in Nigeria, adding his voice to the growing number of calls for immediate restructuring of the system. “There is no federalism as far as Nigeria is concerned. The states are not seen as federating units, the states are seen as agencies or departments of the federal government. “If we don’t want to practice federalism, let’s come out and say we don’t want to practice federalism, but if we must practice federalism, then we must practice true federalism.” He declared. https://ezeja.com/news/2017/02/22/nigeria-treats-igbos-second-class-citizens-nnia-nwodo/ 1 Like

Honestly, especially this Buhari govt. He gat no chill with Igbos From calling them 5% to nonincluding them in his political appointments. Igbos hv zeroed their minds, thereby raising structures and investing in the North and West while u hardly see any Hausa/fulani man or Yoruba man structure in SE. The Hausas will rather prefer sleeping under their truck. Cuz their subconscious is nursing one bad feelings against the Igbos and after they will say Igbos re this and that. "One Nigeria" is a Prank Who is fooling who? It is just a kind of conspiracy theory that Igbos should never be allowed to assume position of power like president or Service chief as strongly demonstrated by Buhari. Nigeria don't trust Igbos, hohaa!, they are scared and apprehensive about them assuming position of power We re being unwholesomely discriminated in a country of ours and u expect us to be silent. No, enough of this non sense, it's either u get us included or u let us be. 11 Likes 1 Share |

We yoruba muslims don't shout when we are marginalized because fulani herdsmen are the best rulers in the whole world, they made Niger and Chad first world countries comparable to US and UK and they are always right when they marginalize us because they know what they are doing. Iboes must emulate us and keep shut when they are marginalized because it is the will of Allah! 7 Likes |

It is early to call but Nwodo might be the type of Ohaneze leader that the igbo needs at this time.. Obasanjo worked hard to dilute the aggressive tendencies of that organisation by getting some igbo elites to elect manageable characters as Ohaneze leaders. That trend contineus up untill Jonathans regime. But with the coming of Nwodo, a real strategic management of the igbo cause seem to be in progress . Buhari went too far with his hate against the igbos and a repeat must never be allowed to happen again.. 3 Likes |

Can this Nwodo just shut up whining and focus insyead on Think Home Build Home. He is wasting time talking to deaf people, nothing will change but we have work to do on ground. How do we begin to Build Home? Nwodo should talk about security, social themes to draw people back home. Nobody has time to hear about what Nigeria is not doing for Ndigbo. Wetin concern us with Nigeria? 1 Like |

Anago5000: Maka gini?!! Anyone who does not support your ethnic agenda to distil poison in the direction of other tribes, is a hater in your own eyes. O di egwu. But everyone can actually see that the hatred is oozing from your own soul, nah. Admit it. As for buying up remnants of other people's land, I wish you luck. By the time your own parents are dispossessed again of such property, please do not come back here to lament. Onye eberibe. 1 Like
