Painfully? Do you mean there are more rounds of pain Nigerians will endure? grin Open the borders!!!! Remove rice from the list of banned imported items! Return the price of petrol to where you met it! Open the borders for cement to come in since Dangote keeps extorting average Nigerians! Let us start from here!!!!!
1. Removing rice from import ban would lead to forex drain, and job losses.

2.Returning fuel to the old price won't work. We do not have the cash to subsidize it now...or even back in 2012. And we need four or five more big refineries too.

I hope the rise in naira against the dollar is not the basis for this forecast? I hope not.

“So what we are seeing is the Central Bank determined to reform the foreign exchange market which was in shambles before now. What they should have done in June last year they are doing now.

Learnt which lesson?
People keep quoting this reduction in exchange rate... it has happened before, let's wait and see if it is sustained because to me this is just a speculative response in view of the new policy change. Will the corruption that adapts to every new situation allow it?

Better reduce your expectations... a big monopoly is loading and we are goading it on. If the other refineries come on stream too, then there's hope but that doesn't seem to be the case

Things are getting better because we have a man of intelligence and who has a working knowledge of 21st century economic dynamics in the helm of affairs Now. unlike when we had a senile, old fashioned leader at the top.

There is hope for Nigeria.
I hope you have gone through and understood the justifications below given by the expert before making your statement:

Rewane noted that the government’s quest to increase the sources of revenue, increase the tax net, block leakages, and emphasize spending on capital projects will have a multiplier effect and have a trigger point on the growth the economy, which is a surefire approach to take any country out of recession.

He said that the results from those various interventions the federal government has put in place to exit the nation out of recession will become ‘visible’ as from the third quarter of 2017.

Who do you think you're telling all these lies to ?? Primary school kids ??

You don't just overcome recession in few months, come on, where is your brain ??

The United States of America and Germany have not recovered from the recession that destroyed their countries in the 90's and early 2000

Go to Alaska (oil industry), New Jersey, Florida, Detroit (steel industries), Pennsylvania (everything is gone in PA) and many other states, you will know what recession is

The Obama administration somehow defeated recession, the administration somehow brought back 50 million jobs but they're still abandoned malls, factories and homes scattered all over the USA

If the Almighty USA couldn't bounce back from recession, you think that a country like Nigeria who can't even provide 24hrs electricity would just bounce back from recession like a Spider-Man

Foolishness at it's peak

These old air heads are nothing but uneducated donkeys
Learn to think before you open your mouth to talk trash. The man you called a fool is more wise, sensible and important than you........ Next time think, think and think again before you comment, anyways am not surprised, you talked based on what you have upstairs, trash in trash out.......

So the best way to go is to develop a thick skin and continue the suffering and smiling. The truth of the matter is that recession will never end and certainly not in Nigeria. Come to think of it. Is it possible for the naira to go back to N150 to a dollar? The answer is no. The only way is production which is impossible in this era.
Nigeria should just know that the Golden age has come up and gone

Why are you insulting the gentleman like this. Why can't we just make our opinions known without abuses.
The gentleman has raised fundamental actions that is playing out right now which are instrumental to his assumptions. personally I also believe by the middle of the year, things should be taking shape as regards the state of the economy baring any unforseen events.

He encouraged Nigerians, as a people affected by the economic quagmire rocking the nation, to increase their productivity and go from protecting their businesses from competition to actual competing so that Nigeria can be competitive both domestically and internationally.
These people know how to talk NONSENSE sha.
What increase productivity by Nigerians when we have leaders looters in London, Abuja, state capitals and local government headquarters who are FREELOADING our money for doing NOTHING?

I don't think so because there's no any way present administration is in working on this, thus how many days month years they were in office but nothing quintessence except hardship and inability poor to feed themselves.
