I know most of them esp my hubby's friends and they can be quite nice. Once you get past their need to argue over every little thing which isn't any fault of theirs since it comes with the job, then you can learn to truly enjoy them

I never argue with a lawyer but then again I hardly ever argue especially when I know I am right.

When you said the rule requires lawyers to handle their briefs professionally which includes reaching out to specialists, is it your own personal belief that acting professionally carries the implicit meaning that specialists ought to reached when the situation arises or you are relying on an express provision from the code saying so or a case decided by an appellate court stating so.

(11.) Lawyers don’t tell you that they appear all rich and neat just to get more money from you and appear intelligent. You see a lawyer and his big car and clean three-piece suit, you assume he is all rich and all intelligent. Well, looks can be deceptive. He might not be totally intelligent or rich, it is just part of the business. Andy, a promising accountant, told us how his lawyer with all the glamour couldn’t say anything in court but kept on asking for more bountiful remuneration and fees.

(12.) Lawyers don’t tell their clients that they will most likely abandon their matter in court or give their younger lawyers and workers all the dirty work for a more tantalising one. According to them, this will afford the younger ones the opportunity to learn the ropes of the profession.

(13.) Lawyers are egocentric beings, they will never tell you another lawyer is better than them except it is a matter of specialisation. Where they can easily say, Attorney Thomson is a better marine lawyer than myself, but I am ahead in crime advocacy.

Interesting... the provisions of the code that call for professionalism are express. The expectations of professionalism are universal, every profession has these expectations, you won't find an exhaustive list in any "express provision". They aren't informed by my 'own personal belief' or a decision of an 'appellate court' (even though there are several that talk about unprofessional conduct for lawyers). I don't have to be a lawyer to know that paying money to a judge is unprofessional.
The issue of advertising is left to them determine. It is regulated by their law in the same way that advertisement of tobacco, drugs and pharma products are regulated by law. You will find out that some professions have restrictions as to the way and manner in which they advertise. I think the restriction for lawyers is quite outdated because the uk permits restricted advertising.

If you think it's easy, I have seen a friend lose 235 million naira cash he invested in the business of a,friend. Till date the money can't be recovered cos of a,badly drafted contract agreement.
He had done similar thing in the past for some fee, simply copy paste with consulting a lawyer n here he is today. Not even the efcc could help him recover his money.
Learn to always be guided by legal advise. You will be much safe that way. I rise.

I am not talking about reflecting the testator's intentions, I am talking about meeting the legal requirements for such a will to be valid. not even all lawyers engage in succession practice talk more of ordinary men to know nity gritty of all they need to do to draft a valid will....who will he even give the Will to keep?

secondly, law designate lawyers to draft some documents because those must comply with some requirements which lawyers know

Why don't you also ask why only doctors are licenced to treat some sicknesses? or why must selling drugs require a licenced chemist/pharmacist?
