I don't even know which tribe owners of Vanguard are from. And I've never seen Leadership or the Nation report a wrong story that they'd be sued and forced to pay compensation. It really pains me when I see our people praying for God to prevent their blessing. Really shocking.
In the history of Nigeria, it took Tinubu to open our eyes to the fact that a state can generate enough internal revenue to become independent of oil. It took Tinubu to show that a 20 year plan can be hat hatched and implemented any where in Nigeria. It took Tinubu to enforce the policy of best qualified successor rather than best politically connected. The list goes on. Yes Tinubu has his weaknesses. He and his family have done well financially and appointments wise. Still, I accept their progress. There should be nothing wrong with progressing from your hard work. especially as no corruption has been proven against any of them. In fact, one of the many good things about Tinubu is that for all the beating he gave PDP, they could not find any opportunity to put him away. Imagine if Tinubu was conclusively found to have stolen a piece of paper. PDP was ready and would have loved it so much as to have some of their members dancing in the streets of Lagos. Instead, it was the leader of PDP in the South-West, that went to jail. Tinubu gave us the best economic team. He was the first governor to refuse to appoint commissioners by political weight. Instead he asked anyone interested to apply to Professor Utomi committee. That was the reason he assembled the best of the best that enabled him to perform the miracle of Lagos. Go check out what he did at Mobil and you will begin to understand why students at the revered Princeton university once had him for interview as part of course work.
May God's will be done because sometimes, the majority on social media is actually the tiniest minority in real life. Trump proved it. Asiwaju might also prove it if it is in the best interest of Nigeria. Ka Chineke mezie okwua. .. Sita nafa nwa ya. . . Eesay!

The things money can do. It's high time we need to wake up in this country and stop celebrating mediocrity. Compare Lagos to any prominent economic city of other countries in Africa, you will know we are far back.

Amazingly, some gullible NFAs who call themselves young people and leaders of tomorrow will chant and hull placards around the streets come 2019 in support of Tinubu. The same eejits that voted a man with an untraceable educational history as president in the 21st century. If there's any justice in the world, tell me in just mind, can it be well with Nigeria? Whoa... You're giving ThisDay undeserved credit, my friend. The publication has been way below the Vanguard in terms of factual and unbiased reporting, and for a while now already, IMHO.

ThisDay has become an expert publication in terms of suppressing the aspects of a story — or simply totally ignoring to publish some — that are not favorable to the east or PDP, while unfairly magnifying those that favour that demographic. Besides, the comments sections to its stories are brutally doctored and unfavorable comments promptly censored/blocked from appearing to the public, including some comments by yours truly.

I can't claim to be 100% correct, but I've not observed such gross acts of suppression of reader comments by the Vanguard in the last nine months, or so, plus, it features virtually all stories, even if some show up incomplete in a way as to lead a casual reader to an inaccurate conclusion.

Anyways, ThisDay has not stopped being an Obaigbena publication - for whatever that's worth.

By the way, I read all mainstream publications — including the versions of their stories Nairaland choses to propagate. A lot of them are just for the fun of seeing how a story changes color across publications, then seeing how the real stories pan out eventually.

I feel that either Tambuwal and El-Rufai would be the APC presidential candidate in 2019. Buhari will resign, leaving Osinbajo to complete his term of office.

The real question would be which southern Nigeria geo-political zone will the VP candidate be chosen from. Will the APC zone the VP slot to the South-south and/or South-East?
