How can oil be drilled in Akwa Ibom , Rivers, Bajelsa, Imo, Abia, Delter State and Lagos state will be the one collecting tax in billions? can you imagine that?
The Yorubas never see wrong in this, they are boasting how Lagos GDP is bigger than African economy but will never tell you that they stealing tax from Niger Delter.

osibanjo goofed on this one, he's a learner on this one, even the Niger Deltans Know why.

He sure did.

He should be careful and not let the praises he is getting get into his head.

Trying to be friends with everyone is not the job description of the President. The post of the presidency isn't a popularity contest.

How will you order the companies to relocate their headquarters to a place that's not safe and the expatriates are always in danger of kidnapping and death??

Osinbajo, sofry sofry, kandang kadang o.

Osibanjo
is the real deal oh!!!!

If this man continues like this, he will make all the difference all previous leaders have failed to make.

The problem in Nigeria largely is a situation where the two largest tribes want to forcefully dominate and subjugate other tribes and they only way seen fit to do this is to prevent any factors of development from going to other places.

Osibanjo has put 1 billion Naira towards Ibaka seaport. That's impressive.

My plea to the two major tribes is for them to give Osibanjo all the support he needs. It's funny how the most vocal supporters of Osibanjo right now are actually The South South and the South East.

The 1B naira seed money for ibaka deep sea port got into the 2017 budget preparation as far back as mid 2016.

Who was president & vice then?

Stop these divisive sentiments.

Oh all the demands by the ND this is the most hilarious, what will happen if chevrom has 3 oil fields in 3 states.in ND,are they going to have their corporate head office in the 3 states?

Lagos where most of them have their corporate head office now is producing oil too,no.Govt can force a ceo of any firm to work from anywhere.

I thnik.Osibanjo just.said this to make sure ND is peaceful.

If this news is true,Prof Osibanjo, will be our adopted son in the Niger-delta.

This is one of the things we have been clamouring for.

It does not happen anywhere in the world where, you distance urself from the place you are exploring and exploiting mineral resources from.

Nobody will bomb or kill anybody if they relocate to the region that crude is produced.
The FG and Nigeria state is the one making pple from every region to agitate.

It is only mischief makers and enemies of the Niger-Delta that will complain and shout to high heavens that there are militants and killers that will kill their fathers and mothers in the Niger-Delta.

We are peace loving pple and if the Nigeria state do the need-full,nobody will have time for militancy.

I doubt if you know what you mean. sad sad sad

Silicon Valley is what it is today because of the concentration of blue chip companies close to their source of labor and material.

The militants are restive because someone refuse dialogue and prefers breaching agreement. The Niger Deltans are veryyyyyyyyy simple and hardworking people. Speaking up for their due right is what earned them the "militant" title.

With the various headquarters located their it makes it easier for company and community dialogues and eliminates the usual bureaucracy that prolongs talks.

Mind you, the said environment gets polluted by their operations so it is fair for them to join in experiencing first hand the plight of the people.

I greet you.

y wasn't the headquarters moved when their son was in power?when a baby wants to cry anything u do,anything is an excuse to cry..

This is a good decision and if the Niger Delta hooligans decides to take advantage of this it is to our own interests too. It goes to show the world that the FG have tried their best for the Niger delta, Take advantage of this good will at your own peril. The companies will gladly shift their headquarters to favourable region one last time and you won't be able to do zilch.

Dah guy why are you so pained? You are one of the reasons why this country isn't move forward. Always wanting all praise and dignity to come to you and you alone. Why not give other regions the opportunity to become great? In your right mind you know quite well that the VP's decision is best for the region and the country at large. Why not applaud it and leave all these religious and tribal sentiments. Uno want make anoda pesin folo prosper for life?

You re not correct. Infact it will do the immediate communities a lot of good via their corporate social responsibilities. Their presence will further bring development within the communities they operate. They will use best practices in line with international standard cos whatever affects the community must affect them. It will even save them cost. Mobile cannot be in akwa ibom and be paying tax in lagos were their headquarters is. That is pure injustice. Robbing Peter to pay Paul. i

This is a welcome development. Every IOC headquarters should be located at the regions where they operate. I have said this before now. You can't be operating in peoples community where your activities affect their environments badly while, you run to a safer region to site your headquarters. Let them stay there and feel what the people of the region feel, engage the youths and provide some basic amenities for them. Some of these IOCs dubious activities have in the time past lead to youth restiveness in these regions.
