Real Madrid had a heated argument in a team meeting before their training session on Friday, according to Spanish paper Mundo Deportivo.

Mundo Deportivo, based in Barcelona, stated that many Real players suggested that they aren't happy with Cristiano Ronaldo's behaviour.

There were no reproaches from the squad towards coach Zinedine Zidane but there was tension between the players, including the likes of Sergio Ramos, Marcelo and Modric.

Some of the stars expressed their disapproval at Ronaldo, saying that when he wins, it's all about him, but when they lose, the other players are at fault.

Many players in the heated exchange also demanded a greater defensive commitment from the whole team.

But according to SER, captain Sergio Ramos was quick to defend team-mate Ronaldo. 'Here we all have to defend and run', Ramos said.

'The only one who does not have to run is Cristiano because he gets 60 goals.' 

whether this meeting affects Real's title hopes remains to be seen but they will be hoping to put it behind them with victory over Eibar on Saturday afternoon.

However, they will be without both star men Ronaldo and Gareth Bale for the La Liga clash on the weekend. 

Bale has been handed a two-match ban for his sending-off in midweek against Las Palmas and Ronaldo did not train with his team-mates on Friday ahead of the trip north to face Jose Luis Mendilibar's team.

Zidane's side currently sit second in La Liga, one point behind arch rivals Barcelona with one game to spare.
