A win is definitely a MUST today.

Yeah.

I don't think any short players should play today, West Ham's aerial threat is a really troublesome concern. That height advantage is a really really big deal.
I propose we also bench Kante Hazard and Pedro for RLC, Chalobah and Solanke
In as much as I spot the sarcasm, I do believe you get my point, the players you listed there are virtually the untouchables because of their 'ultra importance ', hazard is the star man, kante is the best CM in the league, Pedro is the most inform attacker in the team right now.

I'm not saying we eliminate all midgets in our team, I'm saying we balance it. Some tall players to sub the efficient shorter ones. Zouma is not soo far off from azpi, matic has been arguably efficient in the team. The team we're playing against are soo good in using their height to their advantage, it's only logical to believe they would exploit that as some teams already have.

Using zouma and matic wouldn't cripple us in any way.

If your life depends on a game, say if your handpicked team loses, you die.... And you have to choose between a forward with 12 goals and 4 assists but 22 goals if you consider penalties and another with 16 goals and 9 assists without penalties,Your pick sir.

Will you pick a poacher with little link up with teammates or a Tall, Elegant predator with nice technique.....We are talking about a CF that scores a goal for every 30 touch he makes

Are you willing to play sudoku with your life because you hope to get a PK? Especially when you have a PK specialist like Hazard in your team

Lacazette in our team would have 12 goals because he is not gonna take penalties
I'm not comparing strikers here. Get that fact. Stop listing players with penalty goals here and there for me.

I will repeat for the last time, my point is penalty goal is as important as other type of goals. A goal is a goal.

An acrobatic goal counts as one. A thunderbolt goal counts as one goal. A looped ball from the center circle is one goal. A penalty goal count as one goal.

A goal is a goal.

Stop sorting out penalty goals in a players stats. The same way you sort out Matic's assists as 'mere flick ons'.
Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread: Club World Cup Champions 2025-2029 by timbros(m): 7:23pm On Mar 06, 2017
donjazet:
@ timbros, you definitely know that taking penalties isn't really a 'special skillset' every penalty is either an 80:20 situation or 70:30. But odds are always very high on scoring a penalty no matter who because it's much easier. Milner has 7 EPL goals, that is higher than sane, Erickson, sterling and Ross Barkley but would you say he is a better goal scorer than these guys??
This is Ronaldo's worst season, he has 18 league goals of which 6 are penalties. Everyone knows he hasn't really been at his usual best this season but you can see how the penalties have bumped his stats.

If Costa was our penalty taker, he would be up there at the top of the log, that goes to show how high his conversion rate has been.
Penalties just pad goal stats which you know don't tell the whole story.
I told you earlier the reason for my earlier comment about penalty.

Penalty goals are as important as other goals.

No one can score all the chances. Even if ball is on goalline and no keeper some people will still miss
True.

That is why we shouldn't look down on penalty goals. If one can miss a goal when the ball is practically the touchline (Yakubu, Kanu), how much less a player 12 yards out with a 'keeper in front of him.

I'm not even talking of the pressure that comes with taking a penalty sef.

This interview is specifically to prepare your minds for West Ham game so Fabrewailers won't start wailing cos he knows support for Fabregas is strong right now. If he keeps his message simply about height, you will have less grey area to moan about. He will let you know after West Ham game that they have the 2nd tallest team in the Prem and have scored the most (17 goals) from set pieces, that's why he dropped Fabregas. It's an easily digestable message to send the fans.
fatbime how far

Na play I dey play bro.

That height thing is overrated to be honest. I get what you mean about threat from set pieces and cross and nod, but West Ham's biggest aerial threat and top scorer this season is Michail Antonio with 8 goals in the league.

6 of those goals were headers.

I've met him and I tall pass am easily and I'm only 6'1.

Lukaku is 6'4 and absolutely useless in thr air.

Height isn't always a massive factor. You need to see Coutinho out jumping Fellaini in an aerial duel.
