During the campaign he promised to reduce medical tourism among politicians. The president later went to London 3 times for Ear infection, throat then recently for an unknown aliment. Now that he's returning tomorrow is he still focused on reducing medical tourism?

Assuming President Buhari is still interested in that policy Nigerian politicans can visit Ibom Specialist Hospital. It's well equipped, has great staff and runs 24hrs. It's only cost N5,000 to see a doctor so, it is affordable for average Nigerian. Their track record is nice so they should feel safe.

Ibom Specialist Hospital give great reviews by Mnister of Health Prof Isaac Adewole.

Minister of Health, Prof Isaac Adewole, during his maiden visit to the hospital declared the Federal government had no business sponsoring treatments for Nigerians abroad as from 2017.

“Visiting the hospital complex today is an eye opener, there is no such complex like this anywhere in Nigeria. We will start using this facility, with this facility, no Nigerian will be allowed to go abroad for treatment,” the Minister said.

Adewole who reportedly pledged that Federal Government would partner with the Akwa Ibom Government on the operations of the Specialist Hospital to stop Nigerians from seeking medical treatment abroad, was optimistic that with facilities on ground there, medical tourism abroad could be be reversed.

Can't wait for the mentions it going to be hilarious. I'll change the title of this maybe. APC dogs defend master. PDP don't feel high and mighty former governor Akpabio went overseas a swell from what ISTANDWITHBUHAR informed me.

Anyway if you guys care about medical tourism and keeping a billion dollars with in the nation potentially don't let partisan politics blind you. The hospital is underutilized anyway.

Thanks this is one of the campaign promises that's lots will conveniently forget. Hopefully the provocative title gets attention to issue and good work done at hospital. Buhari’s administration could still remedy situation.

LOL any proof that he take any medical allowance? Maybe you need to understand meaning of no medical allowance, No one said you should not travel for medical if you have your money, what it means is Govt will not give any Govt workers foreign medical allowance so if you get your money you can go anywhere for your health..

Lol prove that is not. It's already known that the government sponsors trips for politicians. The quotes from health minister prove that. Your arguing strawmen btw nobody said they can't go on their on dime.

It is not clear how much Mr Buhari's treatment will cost and who will pay for it. But as the number-one citizen, the state is expected to look after his wellbeing.

However, many Nigerians would not be happy if they realised how much such medical trips dent the country's already depleted foreign reserves.

So you missed part where it said state is expected to pay? This follows current precedents. Your claim has no historical proof. Be glad he's back so he can set things right and live up to campaign promises.
