Fame they say is fickle. Showbiz and especially Music business can be quite brutal. One moment an artist has the charts, next moment he's black listed or just no where to be found. This post is dedicated to the artists that made mark in the music industry but to our dismay are presently no where to be found, abandoning their fans who craved some more. Truth is some artists have the talent but lack the discipline. Some have left an indelible mark with hits upon hits but their attitude was their own undoing. Some just decided to settle for a 9 to 5. Others for various reasons. Here is a list of artists that left when the ovation was high. MI The question on every Nigerian mind is Where is Jude Abaga? Choc City and in fact MI is the reason why we have have more female rap fans today. With albums Talk About It, MI 2 and Chairman, he established himself as one of the rap Kings. He is presently the CEO of Chocolate City. The industry is certainly missing the verbal dexterity and lyrical gymnastics of the rap veteran. eLDee Trybesmen and Da Trybez pioneer, eLDee da don remains the mastermind as far as redefining the Nigerian hip hop industry. With fellow crew Freestyle, KB, Sasha, Timi da black and 2Shotz, they made good music that redefined the 9ja music scene. Since his Light Up 9ja campaign, little is known of eLDee, hopefully he's not given up on us. Naeto C Whatever happened to the Storm Records most celebrated rapper? With hits like Kini Big Deal, Ten Over Ten and a chart topping Album one can't help but wonder what happened? Last we heard, he got an MSc and is probably in an oil company raking in money from other means. Gino The No Be God crooner changed the music industry with a then futuristic video and the rest in history. He suddenly went into an indefinite hiatus after the album Pain Plus Work. One third of the talented trio, with Sossick and Owen G, these brother took over the entertainment industry. Sauce Kid Fondly called Sinzu by his fans, sauce hit the naija scene like a hurricane. With hits like Omoge and Sanboribobo, Carolina it's quite hard not to feel his mark. Perhaps his undoing was estranging the DJs and OAPs, but it's hard not to miss the naija boy with flows from Yankees. RuggedMan After dropping Ehen, the rap industry never remained the same. Ruggedy baba as fondly called is definitely a pivot in the story of redefining 9ja rap music. He made rap not only appealing but even beef. Last we heard, he's raking in his money in the clothing industry. Cartiair Perhaps most notable for his Owo Ati Swagger, Cartiair defied all norms and trended when hiphop in naija was already going extinct, topping charts and getting major gigs. His inconsistency is perhaps his undoing, but he remains ever relevant in the scheme of naija hip hop. Which other artists would you like to see make a come back? |

Ogashub:key word *Fully* He's in the game but definitely not fully. He's either too focused on the business side of the music as a CEO or not feeling inspired to drop another major hit. His void is strongly missed.y |

pressplay411:But I'm not sure they'll be able to make same impact like they did back then on the music scene. They caused their own demise, they were almost achieving legendary status back then. If they'd stayed the course, the dividends they would have generated would have been spectacular. Look at the Wizkids of today.... such is life tho |

pressplay411:I'm sure it was more of ego... back then the money in music was chicken change compared to how much peeps are making today. Imagine even low-talent peeps like Falz, Dr. Sid and Lil Kesh are making loads of block... |

Truepee:Really? He must be worth more than Wizkid, No? Trust me nothing succeeds like success. If he's still inspired, he'd make more music. Perhaps the fact that real hip hop is no longer so marketable is discouraging him but even now we have YCee. |
