The Rivers state Police Command now has a new Commissioner of Police in the person of CP Zaki Ahmed.

Zaki Ahmed arrived Rivers state Monday as the 38th Commissioner of Police in the State, taking over from Late CP Francis Odesanya.

Ahmed once served as a Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of operations in Rivers state before his transfer out of the state.

Until his transfer to Rivers state, Zaki Ahmed was the Commissioner of Police in Bauchi state.

Ahmed hails from Kogi State.

Upon resumption, he met with the rank and file of the command for a brief meeting and familiarization at the command’s conference room, Moscow road Port Harcourt.

Speaking briefly after inspection at the quarter guard, Zaki Ahmed thanked the press for their cooperation with the police, noting that he would officially address the press later.

Nigerians like to read meaning in everything.
Someone is saying the newly appointed commissioner who hail from kogi state is a Fulani man. To some Hypocritical Idiots are northerners all hausa/fulani.

The appointment of police commissioners is based on the ethic of the Nigeria police. I.e You can't be a commissioner in your zone, useless for special reason. Same applies for other forces

They always talk tough when they come, but its the same business as usual.

Kogi state people don't bear the name Zaki.

That's how they keep working themselves to Rivers state to partake in money grubbing. Rivers state police are the most corrupt in the Nigeria, and sadly a sizable percentage of the officers and most of the state Police commissioners are foreign.

The brazen illiteracy being exhibited by some Nairalanders can be quite shocking.
The rate at which some people interchange words like "fulani"with "Northerners", "Muslims" and" Hausa" is very nauseating and incredulous.
You saw it clearly written that Zaki Ahmed hails from kogi state, yet you go on a tirade against the Fulani?
Is Kogi now among the fulanis?
Please let us not always show our ignorance in the public.
Fulani does not always equate with Northerners. Not every northern Nigerian is a fulani.
Fulani is not the same as Hausa. They are very different people.
One is a vengeful power monger whose tradition encourage cattle rearing and brutal reprisals for every wrong done.
The other are communal traders ,who are fantastic market organisers.
They have imposed their language as lingua franca upon the entire Northern Nigeria.
Buhari ,El Rufai, Tambuwal ,Bindow,Sanusi are Fulani. Dangote, kwankwaso, Danbazzau are Hausas.
Of course Andrew Yakubu, Yakubu Dogara are Northerners who are neither Fulani, Hausa nor muslims.
Be properly informed before going on sensitive rants.
