Good news,.... Who is to get the credit? Federal government of Nigeria led by PMB..... RENO O. MOCKERY WILL NOT BE HAPPY. some of one with little or no knowledge of the economy. Wrongly believed there was a magic following PMB vacation . the gain is the product of sustained good economic policy. God bless Nigeria |

Jetleeee:Celebrate her Cox she met it at 218 and auto reversed to 420 because below 400 is what aboki buy while selling is minimum of 420 if you are buying much. I won't mind a proof of a seller in your area that has it for 400 at most. I trade so I need the price to go down at least within same rate of banks but not on paper. I need reality actualization. When they can achieve yaradua feat of appreciation of naira against the greenback above what he met it when he came into power then we'll celebrate them at least for once. Right now I need that Intel of a mallam selling for 400 Cox I have a payment to make and I no get money to waste |

hysteriabox:left alone with Buhari the Naira would be 600 to the dollar by now.We all know whom credited should be given...as far as i am concern the only thing Buhari is good at is his sectional leadership that would only please the core north. |

Oga be fair for once in ur criticism. Asking for the present Admin to miraculously return it to 217 is tantamount to say crude oil prices should rise to 100 dollar per barrel except u want us to believe there isn't correlation between falling crude oil prices, depleting foreign reserves and flight of d dollar. Remember Gej made more than 50 trillion dollars from sale of crude oil but what he handed over was depleted foreign reserve, huge debt, inability of states to pay salaries and worse off cosmetic economy that was headed towards recession cos of his kleotomanic kitchen cabinets. yinkslinks: |

Well, it is wonderful news, but remember, the CBN is still pumping dollars that are dependent on oil price increases. In the future....we may have to do these things to get a stable source of forex. 1.Float the naira (yes, I used to hate the idea, but we gat no choice)...and get as high as N1000 to $1 and above 2.Become more productive....ie produce goods for export. Not just agriculture....other things. |
| Re: Dollar Drops Below N400/$ For First Time In Seven Months by Nobody: 8:50am On Mar 23, 2017 |
cyrilamx:Erm...a lot of money was made during GEJ's time, but it was not up to even $1 trillion. |

I remember Apostle Suleiman prophecied on January 1st that the Dollar will become N615. If his 'god' said that to him, then his 'god' must be shocked at the naira. The Naija is clearly more powerful than Apostle Suleiman's 'god'. It's surely not God. Deepfreezer: |

Joavid:Well...when Bubu took over, oil dropped, and kept dropping to as low as $28 per barrel....meaning that CBN had to restrict dolalrs, meaning that we had to suffer a bit....and then oil rose again, while CBN kept on restrciting, until they had enough dollars to feel comfy releasing them. Rememeber, GEJ too does take some 'blame' for not saving when times were good. Soludo did what Emefiele did in 2008....but it was not felt much because we had $47bn in the kitty...compared to the $32 bn we had when Bubu took over. Still.....blame game aside...the real koko is that we do not have a stable source of dollars. And you get that by being productive...as in prdcutive for export reasons. |

''“For us to have a convergence between the interbank and parallel market, it would require the CBN to devalue the official exchange rate to about N350 to the dollar.'' They have started again. Useless analysts! We are talking of a market driven rate, this quack is talking of deliberate devaluation ![]() |

Nice but it should continue to fall until we get at least N200 to $1, I am not greedy to demand $1-N1. |

We thank God for this, but WE NIGERIANS ARE NOT FAIR TO OURSELVES. We hiked prices of goods that do not have anything (directly or indirectly) with dollars. Now that the Naira has appreciated against the dollars, why are the prices not going down?? Do we expect the govt to start begging or forcing us to bring the prices down?? We keep cheating and hurting ourselves and then cry that the govt doesn't care for the common man. SO SAD!!! Let's keep watching and praying, God help us all. |

Jetleeee:RUBBISH, this has nothing to do with that rookie. This is Emefiele's idea through the instrumentality of CBN. The Rookie even became so envious of Emefiele's positive actions that she went crying to the senate to curtail CBN's powers! Kemi is a mediocre who is totally overwhelmed by the enormity of her office. RUBBISH! |

So officially the naira is bellow 400 naira to a dollar... It fell from 520-399 under a month because of the intervention of Yemi osibanjor or according to nairalanders Yemi osibanje... This is proof that if our leaders want to transform Nigeria from its current state to that of the united States they can do it in a short period of time..... On the flip side Our big brother Nigeria contestants went into the house hoping to win 25 million naira ($50,000) calculated at an exchange rate of 500/$1... Now i wonder how the winner will feel knowing that the price has dropped from 25 million to maybe 15 million when the show ends ...... its possible at this rate |

You are the dim wit here. If NOI as finance Minister and coordinating minster of the economy-- a kind of defacto prime minister, could advise GeJ's admin to borrow to offset salary in 2014, when price of crude plummeted to $70, and revered as world class economist, but a poly graduate is insulted for wisely managing an economy already haemorrhaging, depleted foreign reserve and an all low oil price of less than $30 without borrowing to pay salaries, giving bailout to constituent states. Who btw these two is is pragmatist economist? opal4real: |
