BITSWORKS Nigeria is a multi-discipline construction company comprising of architects, builders, civil engineers and interior designers. We currently have a brief for a client to construct 4 units of 2 bedrooms flats on a plot of land in Mowo-Kekere, Ikorodu. The Site is a virgin land, dry and slopy terrain. We will share the floor plan, elevations and 3D views once we have finalized on the design and permission has been given by the client. Size of land - 640 sqm Total area of building - 204sqm Total unbuilt area - 436sqm Percentage of site covered. - 31% Percentage unbuilt - 69.0% Estimated budget for construction - currently unknown PROJECT timeline - 10 months We have started with the foundation work after sorting out all the omo-onile issues and payments 1 Like

Blinding and foundation blockwork has been done. Due to the slope in terrain, the level at the back of the building will be a step lower. We ended up using 7 coaches to make level with the front of the building even with the step down. We used a RC beam to tie the blockwork in place with the foundation short columns.

Block setting for the foundation has been completed and backfilling of the foundation is in progress.

EgunMogaji:Boss, that's practicable on paper and conversations. In fact we had to sort out a well known land grabber leader (ajagun gbaale) before we could start work, even the omo-onile don't have a say when this guy talks. Hopefully in the not too far future, we will be rid of all this. 1 Like |

EgunMogaji:You believed that BS? Omo Nile is the price we pay to keep Pdp out of Lagos. It's 'grassroots' politicking. Baales, community leaders etc have a source of income and in turn mobilize community to vote apc or it's current iteration on election day. All that talk of banning omonile is for the cameras. We suffer, but it kept the pdp wolf out of Lagos even with the dollar rain. |

Backfilling completed and compacting using the manual rammer ongoing.

Once the backfilling compacting was concluded, the reinforcement mat work started. We are using 10mm rebars at spacing of @350 CC.
