Opticians/oculists How Do I Stop Using Lenses. by teemanbastos(op): 9:11am On Mar 27, 2017
I have been using one for the past one year now and nothing seems to have changed, no corrections have been made.
I don't actually use it all the time so that I won't be over-reliant, i use it when I wanto read on computer, tv and faraway prints.
How can I regain perfect vision back as the lenses are not working as my real eyes? Thanks for answers.

Once you're above 40 years, you need a reading glasses as the muscles managing the eye lenses are weakened with age and so affects its refractive abilities

Ok may be its hereditary ...anyone in your family on prescription glasses? Mum or dad? It may also be as a result of nutritional deficiencies undecided Why don't you just see an ophthalmologist?

Sorry to tell you this, but you'll have to rely on lens for life. If you're short-sighted, you'll need to have your lens changed every two years or so, cos as you get older, your eyes get weaker. Your optometrist will recommend a pair of lens with higher power every two years.

The common misconception among people that are newbies in the use of lens is that the lens will in time correct/cure their short-sight or long sight. That's not true.

The only cure for short-sight or long sight is to undergo a lasik surgery which is expensive and can only be done in the UK, the US and a few other countries.
