Because they do not have the funds for an experienced hire. I noticed something was amiss in the interview when nearly all the questions I was being asked where, "tell us of your past blablabla la..." Sadly for me I only had IT experience and maybe that wasn't enough for them.

Although I furnished answers to all the asked questions, I now feel my lack of working experience in this field may have played against me during their final decision making. This is only a conjuncture though.

Friend, for a graduate trainee role here, you will be adequately trained. Your lack of working experience not necessarily played against you rather you didn't convince the interviewers that you will be a better person on this role than the selected ones (interviewers opinion though).

I'm simply @ shock with the rationale used for the selection process....cos I knew I gave my best shot and same for guys on this forum ....My sixth sense is telling me the process was hijacked or they simply did not need fresh graduates.

I was waiting for someone to make this mistake. Trust me, you are very wrong.
I know two people who defy both your assertions. Just move on bro. I will say no more. 

In other news, offer letters just rushed in. I haven't gotten o.

It was not hijacked, i know someone who didnt know anyone but was called... I only feel the interview should have been handled by just a team(it would have taken longer time) instead of 4 different team. The result is not even if u ask me. Team A may give a candidate 100 meanwhile team B may have scored that candidate 95. my thoughts tho.

Well, what can i say to encourage those of you who where not called to join us.
Although i wished to see some of you on board this ship i boarded years ago, life process didn't make that happen.
My sincere encouragement is that
1. Those who haven't done masters, kindly pursue that. Not because of job search only but for personal development.
2. Look forward to setting up something for yourself no matter how small, its easier when you are still searching for job than when you are employed. Trust me on this (and i'm personally willing to support this)
3. Don't loose hope in the employment system in this country, I know a lot of people across many multinationals who after getting frustrated looking for jobs eventually got jobs without knowing anybody but GOD.
