Musings From Diaspora:Nigeria's Sad Descent To A Banana Republic by Nobody:
It's sad to see the state of affairs in the country and see nothing has changed since we got independence since 1960.The way things are going in the country I won't be surprised to see the status and the country remaining in the same sorry state a hundred years from now until some major restructuring is done and some drastic reorientation done to change the value.
The following are the reason why Nigeria will continue to remain under developed:
1) Highest paid Senators and House of Representative members in the world
2)Selective anti-corruption war that targets the opposition and shield Presidency officals like the IDP Grasscutter and Army Chief who owns mansions in Dubai
3)Justice system that only punishes the poore.g Ex Governor Ngilari given bail one month into sentence to get treatment in Duabi despite 5 year jail term
4)Billions in security votes are not accounted for by Governors
5) The N120 billion naira budget of the National Assembly details are not disclosed to the Nigeria public despite the fact they are there to represent the public
6)Mutual distrust and hatred among ethnic group e.g words thrown about such as Igbo, afonja etc
7)Thrillions budgeted at federal level and billions at state level, yet no commensurate development
8Owing of workers salaries and pension ranging to few months to even a few years
9)Worship of corrupt politicians by Nigerian youths and elders
10)Obscene life pension for former Governors that cost the Nigerian state N40 billion annually

Unfortunately, it seems most of the Nigerians who actually care about the quality of the country's governance are the expatriates who can see how things ought to be, rather than the ones back home, who seem so desperate to make ends meet that they'll grovel in front of the worst criminals, in hope of getting a few crumbs thrown at them. That's the only way I can explain the PDP/APC fanaticism on here, the hero's welcome given to James Ibori, and other such nonsense.

Nigerians in diaspora are the only people that can save the nation. Most people living in Nigeria have turned to worshippers of their oppressors.
