Now official, Brazil has become the first team to qualify for the 2018 World Cup in Russia.

They defeated Paraguay 3-0 on Wednesday evening. Their win and Uruguay’s 2-1 loss to Peru later in the night, officially comfirmed their qualification for the tournament.



Although Brazil’s qualification run started with a loss in the CONMEBOL zone, they have not lost in the 13 games that followed.

The Samba team have garnered 33 points after 14 matches, with 10 wins, one loss and three draws.With four games remaining, Colombia, Uruguay and Chile occupy the remaining three guaranteed World Cup spots.
