They should stop creating artificial exchange rate and just float the currency.

They are intentionally creating corruption for themselves by always selling dollars at a lower rate than the true market value. The samr people that bought the dollars will turn around and sell it to the people that need it at the true market rate.

The naira will never fall to as low as N500 or anything close ever again.
If the worst comes to the worst, Nigeria may change its currency altogether!

Anyways I don't agree it should be left to float. The CBN should continue to defend it till it drops significantly. Afterall no difference in infrastructure and capital development when they allowed naira to drop.

Truth be told. Let us be sincere with ourselves. Why would a dollar you met at 200 rose to 500. And yet you sat down doing nothing. If you like take it or leave it PMB is not working.

Which cbn is outa dollar? Abeg they should do everything possible to ensure naira gains again o. After all when naira was allowed to drop we no see any changes in the economy of projects.

I am not wishing the country evil neither I am happy about this news but as a true economist, one will know their policy will catch fire as our major favour source of FX is dropping. We have been talking of diversification but how long are we going to start? Money meant for this has been used to make dollars cheap hence speculators have purchased everything waiting to sell @ exorbitant profit.

Though the aftermath of floating the currency may lead to severe consequences. The decision to defend and float naira is just like someone caught between the devil and deep blue sea.

This is what you get when you are not producing anything in a strongly competing world and you have a huge population that thinks Nigeria prints dollars.

Why spend so much of your reserve defending a currency and go cap in hand begging for funds to fund your budget?
