abouzaid: oppose him with logic and facts instead of insults. What point is in attempting to make perpetually bitter souls reasonable? Is there any logical explanation that needs to be said about how we got into our economic woes that has not been said? Birds of same feather! |

The only reason why i wont support free floating the naira is because our leaders are not ready to fix this country so the value of the naira will just keep nose diving till people start trooping en masse to Third Mainland bridge to take diving lessons. Naira can hit as low as 5k to $1. Our economy is trash |

If Emefiele knows what is good for him, he better make $23b as the benchmark, then use the excess to defend the naira (which is over $7b) Oil prices are above $45 It's not the best choice to make right now, but hey, at this point, Naiea cannot afford another nosedive. |

Speculators and hoarders will NEVER learn The naira will never fall to as low as N500 or anything close ever again. If the worst comes to the worst, Nigeria may change its currency altogether! Nobody should dare/undermine the FGN!! |
| Re: Naira Makes U-turn, Drops To N385 by eph12(m): 7:17pm On Mar 30, 2017 |
robotix:When was it ever floated? Anyways I don't agree it should be left to float. The CBN should continue to defend it till it drops significantly. Afterall no difference in infrastructure and capital development when they allowed naira to drop. |
| Re: Naira Makes U-turn, Drops To N385 by shounited74: 7:20pm On Mar 30, 2017 |
Truth be told. Let us be sincere with ourselves. Why would a dollar you met at 200 rose to 500. And yet you sat down doing nothing. If you like take it or leave it PMB is not working. |

Kingcesar:Which cbn is outa dollar? Abeg they should do everything possible to ensure naira gains again o. After all when naira was allowed to drop we no see any changes in the economy of projects. |

chloedogie:I am not wishing the country evil neither I am happy about this news but as a true economist, one will know their policy will catch fire as our major favour source of FX is dropping. We have been talking of diversification but how long are we going to start? Money meant for this has been used to make dollars cheap hence speculators have purchased everything waiting to sell @ exorbitant profit. Though the aftermath of floating the currency may lead to severe consequences. The decision to defend and float naira is just like someone caught between the devil and deep blue sea. |

SuperSuave:I see how you didn't mention the drop in oil price too, illiterates every where. And they will come here telling you they graduated from ABU. "Simple" mathematics will show how we got to where we are today, coupled with wanton looting from every area of Government. |

This is what you get when you are not producing anything in a strongly competing world and you have a huge population that thinks Nigeria prints dollars. Why spend so much of your reserve defending a currency and go cap in hand begging for funds to fund your budget? The CBN Governor put Nigeria's economy in a surgery room for over two years without any tangible feedback on how it is fairing. This experimentation isn't working and emiefele is too egocentric to face the truth. |
