Analogy of OPPRESSOR & FOOLISH CITIZENS.
(A case study of Nigeria citizens & their elected oppressors).
During the Soviet dictatorship of Joseph Stalin. He was a
brutal dictator with mind of his own. On one fateful day,
Stalin came to Politburo meeting with a live chicken.
Standing in front of audience, He started to pluck the
feathers of the live chicken off one by one.
The chicken trembled in pain, blood tricking out of its pores.
It gave out grievous cries, but Stalin being a cruel dictator
continued without remorse plucking the feathers out until
the chicken was completely Unclad.
After which, he threw the chicken on the ground. The Unclad
chicken was staggering in pain. Stalin goes into his pocket
and from his pockets, he took out some chicken food and
started to throw it at the poor & hapless creature.
The poor chicken in pain started eating and Stalin started
walking towards his seat. As he walked away, he kept
dropping some feeds on the floor & the chicken followed
him and sat feeding from his feet.
Joseph Stalin then turned to members of his political party
leadership. He said, "This chicken represents the people".
"You must disempower them, brutalise them, beat them up,
starve them and then leave them".
"If you do this, go into your pocket & give them peanuts
when they are in that helpless and desperate situation, they
will blindly follow you for the rest of their life, worshiping
you".
"They will think you are a hero forever. They will forget that,
you're responsible for their sorrowful situation in the first
place."
Breath taking, isn't it ?
Now! Take a look at all the people some Nigerians are busy
defending on social media.
Take a look at those they call their heroes. They are the
same people who plunged Nigeria into the situation she is.
They are the same people who are responsible for their
predicaments.
Did you see the numbers of people that throng to Saraki's
House during this Sallah period to go collect peanuts?
People trooping to Bola Ahmed Tinubu Foundation offices to
collect branded One kilo bag of Rice & Noddles. Did you see
the number of people of all ages who troop out to welcome
Ex- convict James Ibori to South South!
Your guess is as good as mine.
Nigerians kill those they should defend and defend those
they should kill!
Pass to all your contacts & let your Political & Religion
Leaders read, understand & digest.

But is it only the Senate that's causing the bad relationship? When the Exucutive wants to dictate everything like it's not democracy then there are bound to be problems. The Writer is just one sided , you expect the legislature to be licking their as*? This the beauty of democracy, there is no room for dictators sorry.
Pls bro, I mean not to dispute ur opinion or argue with u, but i would like to know how d executive has been dictating to d legislative arm of d government. I usually dont comment on political posts, coz politics is a volatile section on NL.

Once again, I do bot mean to argue or undermine ur opinion, but i read d post and made sense of it, but d point u brought up about d executive dictating to d legislature triggered my curiosity. Pls i would like to know how. Thanks. smiley

Why don't you take your time to read up the article and see the message the writer is passing across than just shutting it down because your "oga" was mentioned
First, l must commend the @Op for taking time to write this good piece!
It is a breath of fresh air to see such articulate writings on Naiiraland, a place notorious for being populated by unintelligent riff-raffs who dont read anything before hitting the reply button!
A place populated by under-age Jamb failure who cannot read a paragraph of any write-up successfully, not to talk or articulating one! shocked
So, its shocking that he brought this sort of article that requires "cranial exercise", to a place like this.

But let me 'go along' for now.

That as it may, the author identified THREE things that have periodically plunged the country into recession -
1.) War
2.) Political Instability
3.) Unstable/falling Oil Prices.

He has shown us how Saraki and his gang of Forty thieves and Certificate Forgers can/will lead us, "eyes-opened", into another recession..... by tampering with the budget benchmark price of crude oil while not doing anything about investing in the future and planning for the rainy day!
In other words, the 3rd point on that list is what is playing out now, with "Saraki and Brothers" in the NASS

But l tell you, it is more than that!

Saraki's action is a combination of all the three factors, of which only one has been identified by the author.

Let me explain (in reverse order):

2.) Political Instability:
Every war in Nigeria, is always preceded by Political Instability. It is what caused the Civil war of 1967 when the tit-for-tat killings of the "Political Leaders" of the North and East blew into full scale war.

Now, recall that INEC, which is responsible for conducting elections, have identified a number of reasons why Election fraud, which leads to political unrest (and then recession!), is a recurrent decimal in our polity. The agency has therefore decided that henceforth, it will START EARLY and PREPARE for elections, so that there wont be any "fire-brigade" approach that encourages rigging.

That is very commendable and l am beginning to feel that "we are entering an era where the vote of the masses will start to really count".
if our vote really begins to count, we will then realise that we have the power to discipline crooks, if per chance they find a way to deceive us into electing them into Political office.
Thus, the Presidency, heeding INEC's call for early preparation, sent a list of 36 Resident Electoral Commissioners (REC's) to the Senate for deliberation and confirmation. (Mind you, by law in the 1999 constitution, no election is valid unless confirmed by the REC of that state. it is as simple as that!)

What did Saraki and his gang of thieves do? They brushed it aside and started using blackmailing tactics (like Kidnappers!) saying: We would not even attend to the REC's list, not to talk of confirming them or otherwise) UNLESS BUHARI SACKS EFFCC's Magu!

What has Magu `(Efcc) got to do with INEC's REC?

If Saraki and his Sin-nators are paid with our tax money to live these extravagant life of theirs (I hope you have seen their total emoluments of about #40Million each, every month?) and in-turn to make laws and confirm appointees, do they have the right to refuse doing their job while still being paid?
By refusing to attend to the REC's confirmation issue, the NAAS and Saraki has shirked its responsibility to the nation with the far-reaching implication that if these RECs are not appointed on time, preparation for elections will be in shambles, leading to Rigging and by implication, INJUSTICE and then POLITICAL INSTABILITY!

Let us recall that Saraki is from a lineage of Serial Criminals!

Anyone old enough knows how him and his father, Olushola Saraki, looted the vaults of Societe General bank till the bank became bankrupt. Our dear, mercurial Jay Jay Okocha is still suffering the effect till today, as his life savings got stolen by the Sarakis, as a depositor in that bank.

We are also aware of how the Sarakis looted the state of Kwara to its knees, in the days of "Up-Oloye" when Governorship of the state passed from Shola Saraki (father), to Bukola Saraki (son)!

What about the looted #3.5 Billion Paris Debt Refund of kwara State that the President made available to States to pay their owed, staff salaries...which Bulola Saraki stole?
Should we also mention how Saraki himself looted the vault of Heritage Bank till it became bankrupt!

Thus, by refusing to do their job, by trying to use their own "responsibility" as a "Third Arm of Govt" in a democracy, to BLACKMAIL the Executive Arm, this notorious criminal called Saraki, is already plunging the future of Nigeria into Political stability!

So, when l say Saraki has Stealing, looting of public funds and Corruption in his DNA, l am not exaggerating.... it is in their lineage and blood!
I bet his sons would also be thieves like him and his father.

1.) War: well, this one is a no-brainer!
Once we allow Saraki and his gang of thieves and Certificate forgers to plunge us into Political instability (as enumerated above), we are just a step away from imminent war
Political instability sows the seed of war.
Between 1965 and 1967, `there were series of killings and counter-killings due to Political instability...that finally led to the Igbos saying "we've had enough, we want out"...and then the real war began.

So, Saraki and his gang of forty thieves are gradually leading us to an avoidable second war... with our eyes open.

For those who support Saraki's actions because of pecuniary gain or those who support it out of ignorance and idiocy or those who support him out of hatred for "anything Buhari"...l want you to know that when/if the heavens will fall, it wil fal on everyone, including them and their loved ones. undecided

We Nigerians MUST march on this Senate. We must force them to do their job.
We all need to come together to condemn what is EVIL first... then we can return later to play the 'game' of insults.

The media war is on.

Its better that ordinary Nigerians don't take sides.

Its in our best interest that the elites fight each other.

Let's all observe.
Most of you are so confused!
You think Elites are fighting each other? Really?

You think for example now, that all what is happening will prevent a Saraki's son from wedding a Buhari's daughter?

Look back into HISTORY my friend!
Go as far back as the Babangidas, the Akilus, the Abubakars, the OBJ's, the Abiolas, the Nzeribes, the Ojukwus, e.t.c

Elites dont fight Elites because they have a "common interest" - which is TO MAKE MONEY and maintain POWER.

How many times have you heard that the children of one Elite, killed the children of another Elite?
But do you not hear everyday, how children of a "Nobody" like you, kills the children of another "Nobody" .... in riots, election violence, robbery, e.t.c

Just wait for a week or two and l bet you that you will hear of the marriage of the children of one Elite to another ... while you are all kiling yourself and defending one against another.

WAKE UP, FOOLISH CITIZENS! cry cry
Stop dying of hunger, wasting away, spilling your blood, wasting your time and resources, thinking you are defending "your side" of the Elite, against another side of the Elite! grin grin grin

It is your own life they are toying with.

Rich people (Elites) dont fight each other, they just argue on how to divide the SLAVES (masses) amongst themselves and which one to bury next!
grin

If the best educated generations of Nigeria couldn't lead this country right with all the resources at their disposal i pity the current youthful generation because una go roast wella.
As they can't just comprehend a well put up analysis of events and outcome to appreciate the point made, only to just respond on sentiment rather than reason.
With this kind mentality, the few with their head in the right place will use the head of the rest to sweep gutter in 20yrs time.
After, the late preparation of the budget last yr, the executive hurried to avoid same situation this year having prepared the budget in Dec and hoping for an early passage and implementation. But Saraki and Senathief friends have not only added extra $2 on the oil benchmark for themselves, they abandoned the budget for 4months now and spending value time on ego massage.
And these youths whose future is been destroyed before their eyes are claiming " my hero".

He wont demote himself in Uniform by removing a pure military Uniform and wearing a lower-ranked para-military uniform.
That ofcourse, is a matter of choice.

4.) It is not the "Uniform" that makes the law or does the job..... it is the man in the Uniform.
Once you have "the Man", you can go ahead with whatever question you need to ask.
