I disagree with you, not every girl that has an expensive phone got it through illegal means (let's give our girls a break)
The phone may have been sent to her by a relative in abroad, and generally speaking an average Nigerian female student will prefer to use an IPhone 7 than getting a Car of the same value or buying a land

Or probably she bought the phone with her personal money, which is not your business, you can't dictate for her, on how she should spend her money
