Apostasy is leaving the teachings of christ. The organization of JW know this, and so they had to define apostasy they own way. The org of JW by straying from the teachings of christ, giving their own interpretation and understanding of Jesus' words, they become an apostate organisation.

That is what makes them apostate. Just like the nation of Israel strayed from the laws and teachings of Jehovah, so with the jw org. But they have become too haughty and proud that they will not admit it, those that discovers these are hunted and 'killed' in a sense.

It's not just how jw quote the Scriptures, it how they interpret them. A greater part of the Scriptures is misapplied, quoted of out context and misunderstood.

But I don't play any single so called Christian music cos I've found that most of them have misleading lines. How can you start a song by praising God and then next line you r worshiping Jesus. For example a church here in sango was singing a song. It said.... Adonai I worship you, son of God you r so good. Now how can I sing that. They make it look like Jesus and God are equal. Jehovah is Adonai and Jesus is his son. Two different persons with a long lasting relationship. Well that's for another day.

So bottom line is that church songs carry doctrines not found in the Bible. Like trinity, helfire , everyone going to heaven and the likes. They aren't in the Bible. So I can't sing what's not true.

1.Listening or playing music is a personal decision, but then you should mind what you listen to, are the lyrics glorifying immorality, violence or use vulgar words?
2. Most 'Gospel' music portrays Jesus as God, teach about Trinity, immortality of the soul etc, which are totally against what we believe in.

JWs actually listen to secular music but not all. We are usually choosy in our choices of entertainment because we serve a holy and clean God who will not permit any form of dirty sayings from his servants in the name of entertainment. For such reasons we listen to wholesome secular musics only.

Regarding Gospel music, we very well do but not what is obtainable outside in the secular world. We have our own very encouraging and highly inspiring gospel with words that are in line with our believes as found in God's word the bible.
Therefore it's a falacy to say that JWs do not listen to gospel musics.

Even your explanation of the apostate is what the leader instructed. The account you quoted is good but the translation is misleading. Translating the Greek word that occurred there " worship" is against other part of the scripture where Jesus stated that ONLY his father should be worshipped. See Luke 4:8

NWT used "obeisance" there.

You are entitled to your opinion. However, I can also say the same thing to you. Call you false, say you don't draw people to Christ etc.

But if you are sure of your belief, bring it to the table, raise a topic and let's see who's beliefs are bible based.

What does the Bible teach? 1cor 5:11-13 those are just few of what the scriptures teach as to disfellowship. We follow what the Bible stipulate. If you wish to know more, read the Bible. That's our standard.
