@lionel4power

Project 20386 russian corvette

instead of wasting time and money, better option something like this which would offer a quantum jump in capabilities and not be restricted by the constrains of the vessel in question

jln115 was correct to raise the points which r valid ie. time and money and its advantage vis a vis a entirely purpose built missile carrying vessel than a re-purposed/re configured vessel.

but final decision is in the hands of NN not u and me

NN's decision is to have different platforms serving as OPVs and corvettes

I do not understand where their contentions r coming from

thought u said the pakfa is different from the fgfa
yeah it is
FGFA was/is supposed to be a 2 seater unlike PAKFA which is a 1 seater

plus many internal/external systems would be different from each other.

russians recently have themselves claimed that fgfa is different from pakfa

DRDO short range DEW (directed energy weapon) on which they r working.

it will be geared towards shooting down cruise missiles , PGMs , UAVs etc

and maybe one or 2 crows in the process grin

there r 2 projects which r publicly know

1. a 25 kilowatts DEW to eliminate targets in terminal phase

2. a 100 kilowatt DEW to eliminate targets in boost phase

india already has a static DEW, known as KALI which can produce more than 40 GIGAWATTS shocked shocked shocked shocked
in its civilian version it is one shot only ,after which it needs hours to recharge and lol weights 25 tonnes grin

while the military version existance is classified / denied , a MP (member of parliement) a commie actually on the payroll of a foreign agency tried to ask about it in the parliement , he was sent packing, with the reply given that it is covered under official secrets act as it is a strategic asset grin

i doubt that a military version exists of KALI unless some miracle in miniaturization technology at the hands of indians has /had happened grin

better option kidnap a alien , they have miniature laser weapons grin

A nuclear-powered US aircraft carrier arrived in South Korea for joint military exercises in the latest show of force against the North.
The USS Carl Vinson arrived at the southern port of Busan as US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson began a tour of the region, where tensions have escalated in recent weeks with missile launches from the nuclear-armed North and the assassination ofKim Jong-Un's estranged half-brother in Malaysia.
More than 80 aircraft, including the fighter aircraft F/A-18F Super Hornet, the E-2C Hawkeye and the carrier-based EA-18G Growler are on board the super carrier.
South Korea's Yonhap News Agency claims the heightened military presence is part of a plan to decapitate North Korean leadership.
They claim a military official, who wished to remain anonymous, told them: 'A bigger number of and more diverse U.S. special operation forceswill take part in this year's Foal Eagle and Key Resolve exercises to practice missions to infiltrate into the North, remove the North's war command and demolition of its key military facilities.'

BADASS SOLDIER PART 5

Lachhiman Gurung of the 8th Gurkha Rifles

There are plenty of seriously hardcore warrior associations out there, but as far as I'm concerned it doesn't get a whole lot better than the Gurkhas. From as early as the 19th century, these sack-tearing hardasses from rural Nepal have been like Britain's personal detachment of borderline-sociopathic serial killers. They're so disarming it's unnerving – they've got big, easy smiles, they're quiet, incredibly polite, respectful, and never really bother anybody. They just want to chill out and drink some beers. While none of this really screams badass through a truck-mounted megahorn, it's the deadliest, most insane motherfuckers who don't need to get all up in your face and talk a bunch of shit about how awesome they are. These are guys who know they can turn you from a rampaging dumbass to an eviscerated carcass in about two seconds if they want to, and they're confident enough in their abilities that they don't need to go all macho-man about it just because they're secretly worried that other people think they have small dicks or something. Despite the cool, calculated exterior, though, when it comes time to flip out, the Gurkhas are some motherfuckers who seriously FLIP THE FUCCCCK OUT:

On the night of 12 May 1945, Lachhiman Gurung of the 8th Gurkha Rifles was part of a small forward platoon dug into trenches defending a position in Burma, when all of a sudden his tiny unit came under a massive attack from a couple hundred Japanese soldiers looking to punch through these defenses and then punch a few holes into his torso so that they could tear out his large intestines and strangle him to death with them. The idea of this was not very appealing to Lachhiman.

The marauding Japanese first decided to soften up the Gurkha positions by chucking three full dickloads of hand grenades and various explosive materials into the Allied trenches and then face-shooting the bejeezus out of anyone who tried to dive out of the trench or otherwise escape their imminent fragmentation-related demises. Gurung summarily developed an ingenious third option – one which didn't blow him up and didn't result in exposing himself to an enfilade of enemy fire – he just snatched the fucking live grenades up from the floor of the trench and chucked them back at the Japanese. His tactic of hurling insults and incendiaries at the enemy whenever the opportunity presented itself worked out well for a while, and he sent two flying explosive middle-fingers back at his assailants, but the third time proved to not be the charm for Lachhiman – his timing was a little off and the grenade ended up detonating in his hand. In the military, this is what they refer to as, "bad".

The frag blew off a couple fingers, destroyed his right arm, and nearly took off half his face. He was left bleeding, partially blinded, crippled, and seriously bleeped up in general, but despite having half of his body blown into something vaguely like Two-Face from Batman, Lachhiman Gurung was sure as Bleep not going to stop resisting this onslaught as long as he was capable of sustaining basic life functions. Half-dead, bloody, and badly wounded, Gurung drew his kukri knife – the ultimate symbol of Gurkha badassitude – jammed it point-first into the ground before him, and defiantly yelled into the darkness, "No one will pass here today!"

Then he grabbed his rifle, chambered a round, and shouted, "Now come and fight a Gurkha!"

With every other man dead or dying around him, Lachhiman Gurung never stopped shooting every Japanese person he could see. This dude, by himself, loaded, cocked, and fired his fucking bolt-action rifle for four hours of non-stop combat, fighting off wave after wave of attackers like a wounded wolverine tearing his own leg off with bullets. His tactic for success was to lie down in the trench, not get shot, wait until he could hear the enemy soldiers nearly right on top of him, and then pop up like a murderous, rifle-toting whack-a-mole and smoke some dude in half at point-blank range with his left hand. Then he'd reposition the rifle, chamber a new round (lefty), shift it back, and blast another guy apart. How the Bleep he managed to hold off 200 gun-toting, battle-hardened Japanese soldiers using this technique is completely beyond me, but the authors of the Victoria Cross citations aren't usually in the habit of making shit up off the tops of their heads.

By the time the smoke cleared the next morning, Gurung had been fighting for over four hours straight. 31 Japanese soldiers lay dead in the field before him. He'd single-handedly kicked all their asses, and I of course mean single-handedly in every possible meaning of the word.

Gurung obviously had to be hospitalized, mostly for for extreme blood-hysteria and obscenely high levels of deathtosterone, but also because half his arm had been blown off by a grenade and explosive shrapnel had blinded him in the right eye. He never regained use of his right arm, but this guy ripped so many balls with his off-hand that they let him stay in the service and finish out the war with his unit. He refused to be sent home anyways, and if there's one thing about Lachhiman Gurung, it's that you can't fucking make this guy move anywhere he doesn't want to go, so his superiors were just like, "forget it dude, whatever you want is bitchin' with us."

After the war, Gurung moved back home to Nepal for a while, but then eventually emigrated to Britain. Even into his significantly more decrepit years, this guy continued staying true to his people and never forgot his roots – in 2008 when Gurkha soldiers were told they weren't allowed to live in Britain because they had "failed to demonstrate strong ties to Britain", the 91 year-old Gurung hauled ass out to the High Court out there decked out in about a million medals and told the judicial system to take their bullshit law, crumple up the paper it was printed on, and jam it up their own urethras. Everyone was so impressed that they ended up repealing the stupid law. Damn straight.

Its testament to the strategic vision of Brit imperialists that they got the best warriors on their side. IIRC,the Sikhs never took part in the Indian Mutiny and were always loyal to the Raj. Same thing with Gurkhas who still have their own unit in the Brit army.
Don't forget Fijians of whom there are over 2k serving. In fact the first SAS guy in the Iranian embassy siege in 1980 was Fijian. Their record is excellent.

LCA MK2 NAVY design iterations,

the LCA MK2 physically is quite different from LCA MK1 as can be seen optimized aft fuselage geometry, modified canopy design and the fuselage plug etc

this is not the final design though , it will undergo more refinements, some limited consultancy is being provided by airbus defence and space

Unlike Israelis who horribly misuse their Belgian shepards and Palestinians in ways only evil minds can imagine the Tibetan mastiff was a true wardog. Huge, often 80kg,fierce ,loyal and highly intelligent they were highly prized in the old days. Are they still used?

i am surprised u know about it grin

as for their use , anything related to indo-Tibetan forces r classified

some Tibetan refugees keep them as pets and some can be found in households throughout India

but they r not suited for hot humid weather

never came across mention/use of Tibetan mastiffs against Alexander , Alexander who won a hard fought battle against Porus was weakened at the end of the battle ( even lost his famous charger in the battle ) and therefor was reluctant to push his luck against the even more powerful republics dotting the indo-gangetic plains. (Porus was the king of a small kingdom)

plus his troops were home sick and on the verge of mutiny.

do u know Porus reply to Alexander when Porus was brought in chains before Alexander and Alexander asked him "how should i treat u"

he replied "as a king treats another king"

Alexander was so impressed that he returned Porus his kingdom and they became friends.

Nemesis2u,you disappoint me! Lil Alex got his pendhu squashed by Purshottam, the 7" 4' king of Paurava,a minor kingdom in the Punjab, though his son did get KIA. The Pauravas had at least 90 elephants,1k cav, 10k infantry though the number of wardogs is unknown they were used.

Alex sent his Indian wife,Roxanna to tie a rakhi on his wrist making him a brother giving him a gaurantee of safety.

Here's Marshal Zhukov's take
In 1957, while addressing the cadets of the Indian Military Academy, Dehra Dun, Zhukov said Alexander’s actions after the Battle of Hydaspes suggest he had suffered an outright defeat. In Zhukov’s view, Alexander had suffered a greater setback in India than Napoleon in Russia.

MARSHAL ZHUKOV is correct , unlike the western view that Alexander had a walk in the park blowing away everybody in his encounters in India.india had played a spoil sport on his world conquering adventures grin

also AFAIK it is a fact that the war with Porus fuucked him up , but in the end porus was taken as a prisoner of war , this is what i was taught in history class grin grin , the war elephants drunk on alcohol had some how got spooked and in this confusion porus got encircled , badly injured fighting he was taken POW.

and the rest happened which i stated in the above post.

IMO MARSHAL ZHUKOV is 100% correct in his assertions but maybe the author of the article did not include the POW incident because the issue was not relevant to the objective of the article under discussion which is to debunk and trash the false western version/narrative of how invincible Alexander was against indian kings. western historians have always used obfuscation of facts and other techniques to portray themselves as invincibles and heroes.

indian history has suffered much at the hands of indian fuuked up ass hole leftists and sickularist quack-historians , not to say of the western historians (not all but majority of them)

i will later check up on your version for verification , for now lets go with ur narrative/source since it is new /interesting to me . grin grin

i admit for me it is impossible to know everything and importantly accurately , history is very vast and most of times boring. lots of hits and misses occur plus i am getting old grin grin

Unfortunately there's very little on our first war,the Shifta campaign in the early 60s against Somali secessionists. I don't have much but 'he said' type anecdotes since few if any memoirs or documentaries were made. It was also a race war since the latter believed themselves superior to the majority bantu Christian-also the departing Brits repeatedly told them they were special and had a Somali relationship almost as deep as the Masaai love that continues to this day.
It triggered off a real shooting war resulting in a monumental arse kicking as Shiftas (bandits) tried to divorce the mainly desert 90% Somali NE province bordering Somali republic from Kenya. It was a short sharp war of mainly platoons and coys with neither side bothering with prisoners;in fact KA platoon leaders were issued 2 cyanide pills to avoid capture.
IIRC Samburu and Masaai soldiers died out of proportion to their numbers. They'd throw fits and charge GPMG emplacements! At least 3 different platoon leaders told me the same. Its the same cultural thing that lets them take on lions with spears as a rite of passion-a contempt for danger and a complete acceptance of death.

Nemesis2u,WHO REALLY ATE THE 20,000 INA TROOPS IN THE SOLOMONS CAMPAIGN

Everyone else, this battle was the turning point of the Pacific campaign. The Japs lost 20k and the US 7k during the August 1942 battle with 600 planes each destroyed. Until today the rusting hulls of sunken transports, destroyers and battleships (70 in all were sunk) litter the surrounding seas.

[img][http://warfarehistorynetwork.com/wp-content/uploads/W-Guadalcanal-6-HT-Jan11.jpg/img]

The battle was a wakeup call for the Japs who realised the realities of fighting a conventional war with the worlds global economy. The Solomons was under blockade and soon the Japs were facing starvation. By Dec they were losing 50 daily from hunger and decided upon the inevitable withdrawing the surviving 11k in early Feb 1943.

Here's where it gets interesting: the Japs swear they released the surviving INA troops into the jungle before they withdrew. A Tokyo based researcher buddy of mine interviewed many survivors and this is the common narrative. After the the war stories surfaced of Japs killing and eating Indians troops!
Out of 20k troops, less than a 100 made it back. My own info, says yes, they were eaten-but not by humans.

Fyi,the Solomons,Vanuatu and parts of PNG are home to a giant man-eating hominoid species. This giant has existed for thousands of years and til today the interior Solomons is uninhabited. An ex RAAF flyboy wrote a book.

Virtually, you can ask anyone from Guadalcanal, and for that matter the Solomon’s, if any of their recent ancestors, or themselves has had past exchanges with these Giants, and one finds a very positive response with many tales supporting their existence. I know for a fact that upon arriving within the Solomon Islands, one can ask the first person they see as to whether the Giants can be found there, and they’ll start pointing in every direction, and if not, they’d quickly steer you onto someone who would tell all about them.
http://www.thewatcherfiles.com/giants/solomon-giants.htm

Over the millennia, many thousands of Guadalcanal and Solomon Islander people have lost their lives by being cannibalised by these Giants; hence the reason being the major part of their history and grass-root cultures. During my limited research about the existence of the Solomon Giants, I found that the Giants had actually considered the Solomon Island people like ‘pigs to be eaten’.
This world we live in is not the way it seems! What seems weird, outlandish and unbelievable is often the only explanation. I doubt you'd get any of the few INA survivors lucid enough to explain what really happened but please use your other sources-this info shouldn't be classified. Again,I reiterate this world isn't as it seems!
Its impossible the Japs canninalised Indians. Firstly they truly believed in Asia for the Asians which was the real casus belli. There was no rape of Nanking; in fact that BS has been debunked multiple times like gas chamber fairy tales. The comfort women issue misused for emotional extortion has been explained. No girls were kidnapped! The Japs placed ads inviting girls throughout their territories to act as comfort women.
Jap women were reserved for officers while Korean,Chinese and Fililipino served non coms and privates. Btw, do you know remnant post war IJA guys trained Indonesian and Vietminh guerillas? In fact a number even got KIA in local anti colonial ops?
This digression was to reveal the pan Asian Jap attitude of the era and show the impossibilty of the official story of starving IJA eating the INA.
I've given my opinion as to who or WHAT was responsible.
