The last time i traveled to nigeria, there were about 3 people deported from south africa, we all had stop over in kenya and i could remember how free they were, we even exchanged numbers and had nice time together in Kenya before the connecting flight to lagos. I never saw them in handcuff not to talk of chain them like a 1st grade criminal
linearity:

I think it is how the guy was treated. He was brought into the plane as a common criminal in chains.

Imagine sitting with someone in that condition throughout the duration of your flight, it is inhuman, Nigeria definitely does not treat their Nationals like that.

They would have held him until the number of deportees increase and then charter a private plane as they usually do or allow him to board without handcuffs and chains, but making sure he boards the plane.

You don't have a right to settle anywhere that you like.

If that society has rules by which settlement is attained then you must abide.

If those rules entail getting documents that formalize your presence then do so otherwise you will be handled.

Nigerians are always crying about lack of protocol and rule of law but whenever the law is being enforced they cry - whether it is people being deported from nations that do not need nor want them or whether it is squatters and slum dwellers being evicted.

any act that contravenes the law is criminal, truth be told.

But not when humans are chained like dogs. That's very inhuman. Some whites can be animalistically mean.

Most deportees in dis circumstance will be on d plane before other passengers. Just to avoid what eventually happened

the problem is not about the deportation, is abt how they chained him like a criminal.

What is law abiding in travelling to a country without your papers?

well if you live anywhere near Europe/UK, tell me How many of the high risk criminals and terrorist that are well known to the security agents had been deported?
They are freely roaming the streets. take a look at Sweden. the guy that committed the terror attack (which messed up lives forever) there last week was a failed asylum seeker, and many of that in that fate never get bordered by the immigration officers, not to talk of been chained en-route to deportation.
chaining someone for a long haul flight is never a punishment for not having a document. its against human right, you cant even try it on your pet here not to talk of human.

While it's unfortunate to see any human being in dis circumstance except a career criminal to terrorist but at d same time we only saw few minutes of a very long story we have no clue his crime except he only said paper if na mee too I will tell d people na paper just to gather sympathy. But if d officers were asked dey may tell us dey did that to avoid him harming himself dey may tell us he is suicidal dey may tell us a lot of things dat warrant d cuffs. This is government matter but alas ours will say nothing do dey care they will ask u wey thing u go do there y u travel.

and their law promotes chaining him like an animal?

Well, US law does though this is not US.

If you're a violent criminal you'll get chained. If you're a spitter you'll get bagged.

Correct sir.

But Nigerians carry their lawlessness outside, then, later we will complain that our country is lawless.

Hypos....
The issue is not bringing him back to nigeria. Why did they chain him like a hardened criminal?

If he is a convicted criminal, there is nothing wrong in him being restrained with handcuffs for the protection of the public. We don't know what the offence is, we shouldn't allow our emotions becloud our reasoning. I certainly wouldn't want a convicted armed robber being allowed to roam freely in the same plane I'm in.

Unfortunately they feel forced to do that to people who refuse to leave voluntarily.

Most people being deported are non-violent but the people who are engaged in the business of deportation do not wish to be put in harms way, hence the chains.

This is because most of these terrorists have been naturalized. Hence, they have their documents intact, but somehow abhor the countries wherein they have been naturalized.

They are freely roaming the streets. take a look at Sweden. the guy that committed the terror attack (which messed up lives forever) there last week was a failed asylum seeker, and many of that in that fate never get bordered by the immigration officers, not to talk of been chained en-route to deportation.
I am sure you are referring to Rakhmat Akilov, of the Stockholm attack, yeah? If yes, then his case is quite different. His stay was supposed to be temporary but for some reasons, he lost in his bid to get residency, lost his job and has been on the run from the police ever since. Don't make it look like these terrorists are given the free will to roam and operate without documents.

chaining someone for a long haul flight is never a punishment for not having a document. its against human right, you cant even try it on your pet here not to talk of human.
How about we weigh the possible reason why he was chained? How about we talk about a possible case of violent tendencies?

So did they take him along with them or did they leave him with the oyibo people?

Well, they just postponed the deportation and they have taught the oyibo people never to fly a deportee with fellow country men.

mtchewww.

Their anger was not the guy's deportation but, chaining the guy on the leggs and hands. They surely will deport the guy but not in chains anymore,at least because of this protest.
