ors is oral rehydration solution. It is sold in pharmacies in sachets. If u want to make yourself, boil 1 litre of water. (2 big mineral bottles). Let the water cool after boiling.
Add half level teaspoon of cooking salt to the water. Add 8 level teaspoons of sugar to the water.
Each preparation should be finished within 24 hours

Na mostly for the worst kind of diarhea they use that ORS.

me, I no use am then, I bought it, but i didn't use it.

Is your boy showing any sign of distress?

Mine was very cheerful then o. But she lost weight.
But she didn't look like a sick person.

I gave her half tablet of zinc once daily and flagyl 3 times daily.
Then there was this antibiotic in suspension, have forgotten its name.

That did it for us.

I agree with you. Sma is between 3200 to 3500, Nan is 2400 plus, however cowbell Tina and my boy eldorin is around 1200- 1500 and they are equally good.

You need to sit your wife down and ask her why she is insisting on formula! If she is stressed or feel breast milk is no longer sufficient for her child please by all means get her the formula. I a not comfortable with her saying g she will leave the baby to cry if formula is not provided that statement to me is a red flag that something is going on with her emotionally​ and needs to be addressed asap.

Please get her the formula I'm certain your Sil must have seen something wrong with her sister to suggest such.

Ebf is NOT easy! And I applaud your wife for doing the little she has done already. People need to understand that exclusive breast feeding is NOT a must and women shouldn't be forced to do it to avoid emotional and physical breakdown, our bodies are different and just because lady A did it doesn't meant lady B must also do same or be shamed for not towing that line.

I also swore that I must do ebf! But circumstances had other plans for us and I couldn't​.

Okay mummies going at his wife about her threat to let baby cry need to step down from the podium because some men won't do what you ask until you probably take away their favourite toys/stuff they like .
Moreover most married couples give and receive threats from each other all the time e.g food and sex.
Raise your hand if you have a baby that's ready to suck you slim
Raise your hand if you use a manual breast pump for 3-4hrs and only get maybe 6oz and baby consumes it in less than 3mins.(since cash is a limiting factor we can't advise bros to buy an electric breast pump which costs varys from 30k)
And from the baby's weight he looks like a big eater ,mind you I have one.
And from his question,wife has done her research and decides on sma gold but bros is hesitant because of cash (to which answers have being given).
Mind you baby can still refuse to take formular or you will have to try 2 to 3 brands before he accepts.My son starts rejecting the bottle at 4 months till now,I had to start giving him Heinz cereal and yoghurt,even now that he takes Gerber oat at 10pm,he still insists on using my breast as a pacifier throughout the night.I attempt weaning off 2 weeks ago when he clock 1,boy cried the house down,even refused water
So daddy go and buy formular so that you wife can close her eyes and rest a little.

If you are wearing gold wristwatch and rings then you can go with gold coated earrings. You can buy those bold ones. It will make you look more expensive . You can get some for as Cheap as 100 naira. Same with silver too. Let your earrings match your wristwatch and rings since you won't be wearing a necklace.

My baby is 4 months now and his teeth have finally cut through the gums after showing signs by excessive salivating and chewing. At the same, I started him on semi-solids. Now, he is refusing to take milk. First off, he stopped sucking but will drink expressed breast milk. He will only suck in the night and at his own schedule. I started him on cereal and blended carrots.

In the morning, I give him 40ml of cereal and he will finish all. Then top it up with 30ml milk. He then eats another 100ml of blended carrots or banana and formula with a little water after. After this he will not drink his milk. He might start to suck but then push the nipple to the side of his mouth and let the milk drip down his chin. Maybe manages 60ml till its night time and time to sleep. In the night, he wakes up several times to suck very little. If I use a bottle, he sucks less than 20ml at a time.

I am so confused right now. I stopped the cereal and the blended veggies but he hasn't resumed his appetite. He doubled his birth weight at 2 months and is outside normal weight range because he is quite tall. Please help me out.

Mamas abeg my son has rashes on his face cos he's always sweating and what looks like baby acne. Can I use baby tribotan? If yes should I mix it with the ori I use for him or just use without the ori till the stuff clears?

Easy on yourself my dear!

Sometimes we lose appetite for certain foods for a short period! I feel that's what's up with baby. If the cereals/ veggies are being readily accepted please serve it as much as you can. Offer the milk too and leave baby to accept what he wants for this period.
