I've not followed this story since it broke so I need a bit of help getting a clearer picture before I can form an opinion.

1) Did the Lagos State Government give them any advance notification to leave the area? If they did, how much time were they given before government came to evict them by force?

2) Who owns the land in question? Is it state government land or people's ancestral land?

like seriously, am finding it difficult to believe such news is coming out from Lagos with all d stories abt Lagos becoming the next New York,No alternative arrangement was made with regards to d demolition of an entire community and the court is saying d government can't be held for contempt! Where d judge want make all dis people go?
Re: Displaced Otobo Gbame Residents Protest At High Court In Lagos (Photos) by greatcrown: 2:35pm On Apr 12, 2017
The ruling should be appealed and they should moved the court to location probably Abuja because there is no assurance they will get a fair judgement in Lagos State.

Corrupt Judges everywhere.
Revolution seems to be the only way to Nigeria woes.

I can't just understand this government of the privileged few for their fellow crooks politicians.

Tell this people to stop breeding unnecessarily when you know you don't have money. Besides that place is not land it's on water, these are the same people they drove away around Adeniji Adele water side then now moved to the lekki area called Otodo Gbame, I just asked my Mum who grew up around Ebute metta/Lagos Island told me they are Ijaw people their major profession is fishing.

Brother it's not land, it's more like building shanties on water typical of Ijaw people.

Otodo Gbame in yoruba land. This tells me the yorubas just want to reclaim their area from Ijaw/itshekiri migrants. It has nothing to do with any mega city.

Enjoy your change

You voted for a 98 years old donkey

The drunk donkey is in Aso rock drinking coffee and eating a well cooked meal

Meanwhile his zombies are in a crowded room smelling each other

This is just the beginning
You are out of line! This is a state issue which has no constitutional bearing at the federal government level. Carry your politics of bitterness elsewhere.

If these residents have C of O to those properties, they should produce it or return to wherever they came from.

Its not right to just jump on any vacant land and start building shanties.

Anyway, since current crop of criminals terrorizing Lagos come from these communities, Ambode has an extra reason to demolish them and he's just started.
