Mamas please o when should i start training my baby to sit. She will be 2 months in 4 days time

Start from like when she is 2month 2weeks. I started training mine at that time and now she sit well at 3m+. Though i dont allow her to sit herself ohh until when she want to.

Then also involve her in exercise like folding legs on her playmat, stretching hands and pulling hand close to you to sit.

PS: To do this exercise, please make sure her neck is stable a bit before engaging it this. You can get more exercise tips on youtube or baby center.

Have you started making the hair for her? If no then i havent started mine too.

What i used for my DD which is almost same month as yours is Cantu and Johnson oil.

I make sure i wash her hair once a day but i will stop it once i start making her hair.

All other mama will touchlight the matter for you
Thanks for the prompt response. Is it Cantu shampoo and conditioner for kids? Does it make her hair soft?

Ps:i haven't started making her hair, probably by 6 months I would start.

Liftedhand.s, is there any adverse or long term effect of a baby not taking milk?

My lo never really accepted formula. The same goes for full cream milk.

She's still being breast-fed though.
As long as she accepts bm it's very ok! Then you can sneak in the formula/regularly milk into her cereals cos milk is good for her developing bones and teeth.

Just find a way to make sure milk is in her daily food routine.

You are so correct. My baby weight is at that range. My issue with it is exactly what you mentioned as per tearing it before removing.

Apart from that the pampers is okay. Baby is weighing 7.2kg now.

i dont even mind the tearing, its the fact that i cant secure it that just vexes me. when you baby decides to issue some kind poo, you will just be gobsmacked as to where to even start!

I made mistake in purchasing this pampers for my baby. I didn't see the inscription of Pants there but I have no choice of wearing it for her. As any other mama used Pampers pant before.

Her weight tally with the pampers description.

Sorry sis I haven't used this type of diaper.

Good day mama. My almost 4 months old daughter hair is very thick,a big comb cannot pass through it and whenever I comb it she cries so much. I wash her hair once a week with sabamed shampoo for children but after then it's still thick. Please help mama's as I don't know what to do.

Ccmamas

Just some tips from a natural haired woman.
Get a moisturizing shampoo for her.
Conditioner for co-washing
Coconut oil/Shea butter
A very wide tooth comb.

You can co-wash every day and shampoo wash once a week.
Section her hair into 4 and apply coconut oil and Shea butter on each section and massage into the hair while detangling with your fingers.
Hold the hair by the base and gently comb the tips of the hair and move to the base.

If you can find it, buy a leave-in conditioner for babies for her
Never comb the hair when it's dry. If you want to comb it in-between baths, just sprinkle water on her hair to moisturize it first before combing.

The LOC method (Liquid e.g water, Oil e.g coconut oil and Cream e.g Shea butter) helps the hair to retain it's moisture.

Akorkor pull ups are just to help toddlers get used to the idea of wearing pants (pull up feature) while still keeping the function of disposable diapers.

Shea butter is great for hair softening! Apply a generous amount while the hair is still wet and comb through.

Try segmenting her hair into four parts and gently comb each section rather than combing all at once.

Combing the hair without washing is very painful, please stop.. Buy baby ribbons and knot the hair then loose them the day you want to wash it and knot again till another wash and so on.... that's what I do for my dd and I comb her hair part by part with a lot of singing and distractions. Also apply oil daily on it like that.

The sugar content of the choxo drink is a cause for concern. I didn't give my son choco drinks till he was one.

My Sil gave him ice cream and cake at 4 months! You need to see how my son was licking and smacking his lips grin i dared not give him such and also asked her not to again.

Bottom line choco drinks are laden with sugar and may contain cows milk alongside other not suitable for baby ingredients.

You can vary her milk drink by adding mashed bananas , strawberries and boiled apples instead .

Please tell Zoe to leave your tea alone for now cheesy

Ok.
But i was thinking to get her ovaltin.

She doesn't like sweet foods.

Although I am a new mum and I don't really have experience but I think you should take it easy on what you give your beautiful daughter. I read and my gynaecologist even advised that baby should start solid food from 6month upward because that's when there digestive system is strong. So gentle gentle on ovaltin or beverages. Biko

Never comb natural hair on children when its dry....than ma my motto.

Get a spritz bottle, fill it with water. When you nees to comb her hair, spray some water on her hair, massage it in, leave for a while for the hair to absorb it a minute or two is fine, add your oil and cream. Then comb. ( you can mix a bit of leave in conditioner to the water)

When combing start at the tips to detangle and work your way to the base . Always hold the bottom of the hair so you are not pulling the scalp.

With all these precautions you will think dd's hair go done reach waist oh...... the thing is still there hugging the scalp! angry

Ovaltine although rich in vitamins still has sugar! And lots of it.

Whatever benefit it'll give will be inconsequential cos of the sugar content.

It's recommended to leave chocolate drinks out of children's diet at least till age one! Juice inclusive.

Children can easily get addicted to the sweetness thus reject other foods later.

Thank you
My son had it and I initially thought I may have used very hot water to bathe him but it kept spreading. So I stopped his chicco lotion and used coconut oil, I applied it generously with gentle massage. You can try it and see if it helps, try not to peel the scales off cos it leaves a red patch that is painful afterwards.

Note I didn't towel dry his body before applying o I guess the skin needed moisture undecided the dry flaky stopped eventually and I also reduced his bathe to once a day as against the twice daily which may have stripped his skin of oil.

Sorry I forgot to explain that. Co-wash means washing with conditioner. You would apply the conditioner like you would your shampoo and wash the hair

This is the baby "eczema" we were talking about some days ago.
What worked for us is E45 moisturizing lotion. One mama said Vaseline worked for her, Shea moisture baby eczema range worked for one and another said Aveeno eczema therapy worked. So choose what you can based on your pocket

Hello mamas.
Please at what age can a baby be given tea...

Choco and formular instead of milk since my girl isnt old enough 4 adult milk.
I noticed that she likes my tea alot and drags the spoon.
Guess its d flavour.
Pls when can i start?
She will be 6months in 2weeks time.

Tea has some caffein in it. So its not advisable.
For all the other beverages, wait till at least a year old. All she should be having now is milk and water, not even fruit juice .

I believe someone mentioned you can blend with fruits.... that is another healthier way to add variety

Later on if you decide to give other drinks, reduce the quantity of the beverage or dilute well,

for instance if i want to give dd milo, i fill the cup with milk and add a small teaspoon of milo just enough to change the colour and taste abit.

For ribena and other squash like drinks.... add more water than you would for an older person.

Plus.... sometimes the thrill for this children isnt what they are drinking but the fact that it is coming from a cup!

Chai my dear here are the possible causes of that patch:
Very hot water: pls I beg reduce that hot water to warm please

Soap: use baby soap and not medicated or antiseptics its too harsh on baby skin

Powder: in case you use mentholated dusting power, stop.

If you're guilty of one of the above, stop it asap then it will vanish on its own. May God help us.
