Guys on the Gionee M5 chinese rom. How far are you enjoying it.
I have used the Chinese rom before infact around this time last year. Just cldnt get most out of it.
But since someone just mentioned it again and was able to put Google services and remove some system Chinese native apps. Got me interested again.

I dropped my M5 in water yesterday. Dropped straight to the bottom of a bucket of water.

I turned it off as soon as possible, but before that, the networks went dead, and the red notification light was dimly on.

Took out the trays and left it to dry. It started turning itself on and off after that. About 4 times it turned on, then off. I shook it out and it stopped with that. Lens eventually fogged up.

About 7 hours after the incident, the lenses were clear, and I turned it back on.

Working perfectly. That's what I'm typing this on right now. Speaker, cameras, flash. Everything is fine. Except the charging port requires the plug tilted somehow.

Im impressed with this phone.
