I have two German Shepherds. One is about 4 months whilst the other is about 6 weeks. I brought in the female (6 weeks) a few days ago and since then the male (4 months) who has been with me for the past 3 months wants to get rid of her.

He is always biting and attacking her. Always growling whenever she comes close to his plate of food. If she is playing with her toy, he collects it and pins her down.

They are both GSD so they should be family
I don't know why they would fight and if care isn't taken it seems he wants her dead.

Please advise me on what to do. I'm afraid. sad

Don't allow her near him when he's being fed.

Don't allow him to have access to her when you are not around.

Is he actually biting her though? Is he drawing blood?

No blood. However, she cries when he grabs her neck with his mouth.

Does he lift her when he grabs her neck? How many times does this happen on a typical day? Does she seem to be traumatised afterwards?

The exact same thing happened to me with my GSDS when they were still puppies the male was always attacking the female eventually we had to give her out to someone to curb the constant attacks from the male.

You just need to socialise them with your supervision.......from the food part, that's where u'll start from. Even you the supposed pack leader.....if you don't train your dog well from puppy stage if you give him food and u mistakenly put ur hand back to the plate to just add a meat or two or just to give him more food...u could get an an aggressive response which could even be a bite.

What I did with my dogs cos I can't be feeding them in separate bowls. I stay there till they finish eating together infact I put my hand in the bowl everyday for some weeks till he got used to the newest lhasa.
As regards taking toys and fighting u can't avoid that from time to time dogs will fight....i had a very notorious lhasa for about a year and half befor I got my cauc. The lhasa is always attacking the cauc trying to show "I came here before you stunt"..but all that stopped when the cauc got bigger.
But once in a while he still likes to show team lead to the cauc as per the oldest but the cauc uses his massive size and scary dentition to reset the lhasa's brain. They fight from time to time.. but nothing fatal or injurious

You need to stop this from happening even if it means keeping them apart. Good luck!

He doesn't lift her. He grabs the neck and try to pin her down or sit on her.

He does this about twice or 3 times a day. If he sees me hand-feeding her or giving her some attention while he is on chain.. he begins to bark angrily.
