Multiple online reports confirm the shooting of Gani ‘Elese’, the leader of an Owo-based cult gang, in a gun duel with the police, at his hideout at Jugbere Camp, a farmstead sharing boundary with the Ondo State Forest Reserve.

Before his death, Gani was said to have claimed responsibility for series of killings in Owo and surrounding communities. Here is the photo of slain cult leader below.
