And are u sure the price is not from the dealer?

I buy N110 from my customer here in warri. She buys N99 frm her dealer who walks around supplying the card, the dealer buys N97 from the MTN franchise office that buys logical pins directly from MTN.

Question is how much MTN selling?

I know their VTU is N97, when others are selling N94

People still dey buy recharge card from shop? I don't even know the last time I buy card from any retailer.... Internet has taken over
I dont buy from the internet because that lady or young man in your street selling recharge cards needs to be employed, if you dont buy from them and decide to buy from rich banks you may be pushing them into doing unwholesome acts to survive

Before now everyone was screaming "buy from those who sell and stop using your internet banking"

Now they have added their own VAT to the recharge cards.

It was MTN that added to the price and most of the retailer buy @97 or 98naira.
Won't they make profit as well?

MTN always likes eating its cake and having it. The woman in my area had to add N10, 20 depending on the amount of airtime as according to her MTN increased the cost of airtime which affected the little profit she was making from it.

I hate the fact that MTN is my major source of communication otherwise I would have disposed the sim card. Useless network

There was a particular celeb that championed the campaign of recharging from roadside vendors. Honestly i understand the vendors plight. Most of them do not make more than #30 per 10 cards sold.

It is those MTN Franchise that sells at that exorbitant price,if not mtn won't have issue a disclaimer cos they don't want to be fined by NCC

I sell recharge cards, I will transport myself to and fro the place of purchase for 180, Mtn - 97/98, airtel - 95, glo - 92, Etisalat - 95.

We were managing Mtn before that it was switching between 95.5 & 96.5

Glo too just increased from 88 - 90 - 92
