Agrited hatchery has the Ross 308 PS hence their commercial broilers. They can hit 1kg -1.1kg or more in 4weeks if management practice and feeding regimen is on point. We can supply you sir if you want. State borders isn't a barrier as we ship nationwide. Attached is a picture of a Ross strain at day 5.
I've got CHI, I don't what strain though, they are doing 1.4kg at 5 weeks, I'm particularly not impressed especially with their height. I should give agrited a trial next batch

Evening temperatures around 8pm = 36c
Around 12 midnight = 33c

No heating source this night

1.4 at 5 weeks is not bad. What brand of feed do you use and how many bags / 50 birds? Do you mind sharing pictures with us?

Do you have problem of some not walking on their own? I know Chi broilers that grow so fast have this problems especially when they are six weeks.
Re: ... by Nobody: 10:40am On Apr 12, 2017
Minimum temperature in my pen with half closed tampolene was 30 c this morning around 7am.

I didn't use a heat source all through.

Day 13
Excessive temperature and humidity in lokoja. Humidity of over 70% this morning and over 50% during the day.
I lost two birds.

I had to start giving cold water to ameliorate the heat and look for a longer term solution.

One of the nutritional ways to fight heat stress is multivitamin application in water by increasing the intake of lysine and methione.

Despite using asbestos sheet, the house is averagely 36c-39c during the day.

I don't know but in my opinion, I would go with the biggest and certified hatcheries.
My personal best would include but not limited to Tuns, Zartech, Amo, Chi and Agrited

The two biggest producers of broiler in Nigeria are Chi and Tuns while the two highest internationally certified hatcheries are Zartech and Tuns.

Agrited has one of the advanced equipment in Nigeria capable of producing up-to 2,000,000 day old chicks per day.

Amo is known for good research and development program in their hatchery.

So the best will depend on individual choice, Obiageli. Hope my choice will not draw negative attention here kiss

I am sorry, but I don't believe Amo because I bought 1 carton of cockerel, when I got home I met one dead already inside the carton ,before the first week 9 of them died and the 2nd week again one died and I believe that those chicks are premature, for me ,I don't really think I will buy from Amo again, I will like to try other farms

Everyone have their experience. It depends on what killed your chicks. It could be due to poor management, error or from hatchery.

Like my view about tuns broilers is now different. This is because of the presence of chicks like 4 premature in a set of 51.
I lost 2 premature, 2 others due to extreme heat I guess after taking lasota vaccine the day before and 1 due to dehydration yesterday cause no one was home to refill the water can.

What I observe is that backyard farms this time don't raise many broilers because of the extreme heat of their season.

1. Some saw with pasty butt on arrival. Google more on that

2. The chicks were small in size compared to others i have raised.

My view thus for now not favourable.
